2016 Football Recruiting Thread - Notes from NSD Press Conference and Reception

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the rule that if a scholarship athlete plays football, his scholarship has to be considered a football scholarship? To prevent schools from giving 20 extra scholarships to fake track athletes who are really there to play football?

That was my holdup. Is it possible it's just a one season loan type of thing, since we had schollies to burn?

If the kid really has anything close to that kind of speed, wouldn't he more likely be a linebacker than a defensive end?

Keep in mind that Wake's defense doesn't have outside linebackers, however one of the DE positions is called the "Drop" DE position and they seem to recruit high-end athletes with the ability to fill out into a lankier type DE for that role. See Chris Calhoun, LaRonde Liverpool etc.

I have no idea. Like I said, the language in his WF bio suggests scholarship, but I don't know.

Assuming Beckerman is walking on, rather than taking a scholarship, here are some updated scholarship charts...

(If it comes out that he's taking a scholly, I'll update accordingly)

Saw E Gaston play last Friday night - he's still not dressing out for them. Assume he was #4 in shorts but no action. Regardless, RW did not play.

It was brought to my attention that my scholarship chart didn't have Zimmer's ESPN rating on there. I've corrected the mistake (he's 3*/75 there).

I've read that Kamara doesn't have a UNC offer. If that info is correct, that means the recruiting websites have it wrong. They are recruiting him though.

94, do you have any info on '17 OL from Eastern Alamance who reportedly has an offer from us and numerous P5 schools?
