2017 College Football Coaching Carousel

Wow Josh Gattis apparently getting the nod from Alabama as co-offensive coordinator and WR coach. Awesome step for him!

That's fantastic. Congrats to Gattis!

That is big time. Kudos!

Interesting that he is an offensive coach when he was defensive player (like Clawson). Perhaps, the defensive perspective helps. BTW, former WF DC Dean Hood called Josh "the most mentally sharp kid I have ever coached". High praise coming to fruition. Elite college safety. Always in the right place.

Gattis made a very quick rise. He went from a GA at UNC in 2010 to an SEC WR coach at Vandy only two seasons later at 28 years old.

where have you seen that he will be co-offensive coordinator?

this article says he's being hired as the WR coach to fill the shoes of the promoted former co-offensive coordinator/WR coach who is now the OC

"The Crimson Tide will reportedly hire Penn State passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach Josh Gattis as the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, according to Football Scoop."

that 2006 defensive backfield was killer, man

just looked up Patrick Ghee -- he's a CTO of a printing/shipping company; forgot he got his masters in computer science at Wake, one benefit of the redshirt program

It was stacked. Alphonso Smith had the longest NFL stint (and is among the WF all time leaders in picks). Chip Vaughn was the third safety, and absolute beast, and WF also had Kevin Patterson and Riley Swanson (both were NFL FAs; Patterson was a GA for WF under Grobe; not sure if he is still in coaching). In addition to the stacked secondary, WF had Curry, Arnoux (both NFL Draft picks) and Abbate at LBs. Crazy talent.

Not to mention Jyles Tucker and Jeremy Thompson, both NFL players, at DE, and then Jamil Smith, Zach Stukes, Boo Robinson, and John Russsell at DT.

Man, that defense could have won the ACC Championship!

Eric Berry was a good player at LB who left the program. Bryan Andrews didn't pan out as a highly rated recruit, but he was a good senior DE on that team.

Kevin Patterson is back in Winston. He's a case manager for the local Big Brother Big Sisters.

I loved Eric Berry, was real bummed when he left.

Vaughn and Patterson in the dime package was dirty.

That Wake defense gave opposing offenses only bad options: Run against Boo Robinson and that linebacking core or throw against the DB's Wake had.

Hell yeah. Need Gattis to get those receivers developed ASAP so my dude Tua can throw lasers at them.

A few years in T-Town and he most certainly will be #1 on the Clawson replacement list.
