Lane Kiffin signs 10 year extension at FAU.

That's got to be written in a way that serves Lane Kiffin.

Well yeah. He signed it. It's probably written in a way that serves Kiffin and FAU.

Nice! We hung 37 on his defense.

Interesting Elko defense collapsed second half Wake Forest and stayed collapsed the rest of the season. Seems like Clawson showed the world something about the Elko defense.

Looks like teams have started to hire the 10th assistant that NCAA allowed recently.

NCSU hires Ted Roof to work with the secondary and be co-DC. Looks like Paul Johnson/GT and he were going to mutually part ways after this season either way. Think that's a really good hire for NCSU given the issues we have had in the secondary and basic alignment issues as well. Sounds like it will not be a very expensive contract either which makes it even better.

Hadn’t heard about the 10th assistant. What prompted it?

Not sure to be honest, probably just more money is around now. Think you will see a ton of guys moving around after the bowl games.

More money but not enough to pay players.

Looks like the complaint is about lowering the coach to player ratio. Fair mathematic point but programs could just take fewer walk-ons. Also, with 10 assistants, there’s one coach per player on the field. Basketball doesn’t even have that with 5 players.

Nobody really says "there's not enough money to pay the players". Straw man as intended. Available money is not, and never was, the issue.

It is for coaches. If we were paying players all along, coaching salaries wouldn’t be as inflated as they are.

Any rumors about who Clawson is targeting for 10th asst spot and what position they might coach?

They come down to $$$. Read the whole link.
