Trading a first round pick?

Different franchises. The Steelers haven’t had a losing record in a long time. We have one at least every other year. Miami is going to make it really hard to tank for Tua so we may as well try to make the best of it and take the best first round QB we can get.

The funny thing about Newman is that his stock is rising when Lawrence’s is going down a bit. Kind of similar to Jameis’ sophomore year when people started questioning his game but he still went first. Lawrence still has 1 3/4 more seasons to go.

Basically. But don’t be surprised if you start seeing people say Perkins and Newman are up there with Lawrence mostly because it’s hard to spend three straight years saying the same guy is the best QB in college football.
 
I would be very, VERY surprised if people start saying Jamie Newman is up there with Trevor Lawrence.
 
Newman was 14-28 for 214 yards in his only game against a P5 opponent this year and underthrew a wide open Surratt for his only TD pass. There are other quarterbacks in college football who will be talked about before Newman and Perkins.

So now at least one "source" is saying Cam could miss multiple games with this "foot injury."

No excuses. Panthers must win without Cam Newton.

Today we learned that Carolina Panthers starting quarterback will likely miss multiple games with a foot injury. But playing without Cam Newton is not something that should come as a shock to the Carolina Panthers staff. In fact, it was more of a probability all offseason.

Let us not pretend that the prospect of playing without Newton should come as a shock to anyone, especially GM Marty Hurney or head coach Ron Rivera.


The Carolina Panthers have had nine months to prepare this team for life without Newton. While hopes were high he could weather a full season, it was never seen as a probability. If anything, it was always unlikely.

Definitely seems to be some serious credibility to SD3's story now. First Rivera trips over himself about foot possibly being injured in presser after indicating not an issue and now out indefinitely???? Why wouldn't he wait to see how it heals unless he is emotionally checked out and Panthers want to cover for him hoping he can get it together while he takes some time off/away from team???

the hawkeye pierce getup was a sure sign things were coming off the tracks...
