2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

What is SAD and HILARIOUS is i've been talking about and supporting Castro for MORE THAN FIVE YEARS. If you remembers he was 1/1A for me for VP for 2016. Pre-Me Too, I did Al Franken for VP. Castro's being bit boring could be big plus.

Right now, barring brokered convention, I'd say short list for VP for anyone might be:

1 ADAMS
1A Castro
2 Kamala Harris
2B Booker
3 Mayor Pete (longest odds of the five)

In countries with two major parties, of course, they would.

But you have to realize that in northern European countries, universal healthcare, free state universities, parental/family leave, LGBTQ rights and many other things labeled very liberal in the US are accepted, implemented and considered conservative in those countries.

So in northern European countries, Biden's positions would be conservative?
 
What a dumb argument to pick just to disagree with rj.

The truth is other countries (looking at you Europe since that is what I have more experience with) grapple with similar things we do. Many are also far more "progressive" in how they view things like social protections for their citizens. Like America the reality is they are not strictly socialist as the DGOP paint dems. It's a mix of capitalism with social programs designed to help their citizens. Feel free to disagree with specifics but their are pieces of both that are 8n place in America already. 'Mericans just don't understand that because they have been conditioned to not think for themselves.

M4A is substantially to the left of the healthcare programs of every Northern European country.
 
Universal healthcare is universal healthcare. There may be nuances but the cores are very similar. Germany does allow supplemental, private insurance however.

I don't believe M4A goes as far as some Scandavian countries with respect to having paid vacations after some illnesses.

The reality is what we consider very liberal most of the industrialized world considers SOP.

BTW, in Germany, Netherlands and most of Scandanavia firing employees is very difficult as they have many more rights than in the US.

Doing business in Europe is a nightmare because this exact scenario. It takes 90 days both ways in most places to hire or fire people, making it almost impossible to ramp up resources and/or run a lean company.

I hope the conclusion is that swing voters who are older whites, people of color, and young people and who don't vote for the democrat this year are stupid assholes. And I hope he uses the words stupid assholes.
