I didn’t say older people were more conservative. I said older Democrats are more fearful of Republicans with respect to their tactics. That’s a cohort not age effect.

I thought we were having a different discussion in which we largely agreed.

Trump dying of covid right before the election and throwing everything into absolute chaos really would be the most 2020 thing of all 2020 things.

The WH issued a statement saying he's experiencing mild symptoms. This is where Officer Barbrady says nothing to see here, everyone move along.

That said, I think deaconson may have the correct take. He doesn't have a good way to spin this at the moment. But as long as he doesn't die from it, then he'll come out and say he's rona free, and it was no big deal (no matter he serious the symptoms really are).
 
See him out and about:

Few days- Potential that the whole thing is fake used it as a huge distraction.
5-10 days- It was real, most likely mild
10+ days- severe symptoms that knocked him on his ass
20+ days- He dead

What’s the chaos for? Trump has so many pre-existing conditions that it would be dishonest to say he died of COVID

Just generally a sitting President dying weeks (days?) before the election would be pretty wild. The conspiracy theories would be worth it though.

He's known for longer than he's letting on. 2 tweets in nearly 24 hours. Those were covid + admissions.
 
He tweets a lot but there have certainly been periods longer than this where he hasn't tweeted anything. Reading into the tweets is a reach, tbh.

I know because I've lost money on the PI markets when he suddenly decided to stop tweeting for no goddamn reason.

Biden just gave a campaign speech in Grand Rapids. Biden and Harris are going to continue campaigning during Trump's quarantine. I don't think there was any real speculation that they would suspend the campaign, but here is confirmation.

Good. I think there was an era where the candidate would have suspended a campaign out of respect for his opponent but that era is no more.

You’re just trying to pump up those numbers to keep the economy closed so that people have to depend on the socialist government. True patriots like President Trump played the Chinese Virus down, we still like to play it down.

Yep. And we all know that Trump wouldn't have done the same if the circumstances were reversed. Besides, Biden and Harris have been running a very different type of campaign from Trump anyway - low-key, relatively small rallies, lots more activity on social media. Don't see why they should change that now.
