2022 Atlanta Braves Season Thread: off season decisions loom

Houston is doing to the braves tonight what the braves did to Houston last night.

Fried basically throwing BP. Although, listening to Smoltz makes me wonder how every Astros hitter didn’t bat 1.000 during the season. THEY HAVE NO WEAKNESSES!!!

Back to back hits to Siri and Maldonado is killer. Most hits were softer than the outs last inning.

So frustrating to see ground balls to 2nd be hits because of shifts.

Really disappointing 2nd run through the batting order after we had so many sharply hit balls the 1st time through.

Really is stupid. Makes sense when playing so many reg season games based on stats, but as announcers have said before when going against the best hitters and in situations where they are going to be more intentional in hitting the holes it makes no sense. But don’t tell Snit!

Two sharply hit balls down the 1st base line with the 1st baseman holding a runner on.

Didn’t see where anyone mentioned Tucker Davidson was called up to replace Morton. Looks like he had some nice starts vs Nats and Phillies in June throwing almost 12 innings of shutout ball but also got roughed up by BoSox. Will see if Smyly gets a nod with Tucker as backup for game 4?

At least max got his groove back and is eating some innings.

had a chance to put a little pressure on houston there. great at bat adam.

5 runs allowed on tailor made double play balls. One on error one on a shift that was done 3% of Gurriel’s ABs this year and he hit .500 against.

We also have 3 runs in the last 12+ innings and a ton of strikeouts. Bats need to wake up, at least for momentum.

MLB replay is the most useless thing. It seems its purpose is to protect the umpires rather than find the correct outcome.
