2023-2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Thread

Actually the case that was decided today was the RaeQuan Battle case against the NCAA in WV. In that case, a WV District Court judge essentially struck down the rule preventing two time transfers; so Battle can now play for WV, and every other transfer that was previously ruled ineligible is apparently eligible. Agree that the NCAA is fucked. If you think there was chaos before, there is full and open free agency without any rules now.

Would've been helpful if this ruling had been issued before WF played UGA, Utah and LSU.

The in-season transfers from non-tourney teams to those in the bracket are going to be WILD.

There are quite a few transfers that are now eligible. Would guess this ruling impacts more than 50 players.

We could have just waited a few days and saved some effort and money

it's in effect for 14 days? So the transfers can play for the next two weeks and then what?

Gettting a TRO is no small feat either. At a minimum, you have to show irreparable harm without the Order going into effect AND convince the judge that you have a "likelihood of success on the merits"

While this could be (somewhat) entertaining, there is still a rule on the books where you can't play for two teams in the same season, so for now, this is still prohibited.

I hear you, but what in that rule book is going to exist as it applies to player movement?

Good academic standing requirement should pass muster.

Louisville getting run out of their own gym by 3-7 Arkansas St. Pitiful.

This is so bad.

I can see the mannequin as their acting head coach come Jan 20 in his return to the Joel.

Louisville might be a small favorite against Pepperdine at home this Sunday, and after that they may not be favored in a game the rest of this season.

They could realistically lose the rest of their games.
