2023 College Football Coaching Carousel

Don't see Calhoun going back East.

That said, there was an article in the Washington Post today about how Service Academy players are barred from receiving any NIL money. Further twisting the knife, Navy and the Marines among other DoD entities have paid NIL to several NCAA athletes at other schools over the past year. This hypocrisy is not sitting well with the players and coaches at the Service Academies; so, maybe Calhoun is ready to move on.

BTW, Air Force had an epic season win total bad beat. The AF win total was 8.5. AF started 8-0, with four games left, including as 20+ point favorites over Army and Hawaii, and a favorite over UNLV. AF completely collapsed finishing 8-4. Ouch.

So our tax money is paying people to play for the competition. Gotta love it.

If Calhoun wants to make a move - we should be more worried he ends up at Stanford or Cal. He isn’t an East Coast guy and he can get paid a lot more there and has access to CA talent

Every Stanford and Cal coach for the past 115 years has had access to California talent as a member of the PAC-12 or one of its forerunners.

Those two, Troy Calhoun and Brad White , should be programmed on Currie's phone already. After that, it's MAC coaches that would be a good fit. Then other G5 head coaches, again, fit for Wake would matter.

Another possibility is Wake alum Danny Rocco, currently VMI HC. He had success at Liberty, Richmond and U of Delaware. UD fired him after a down 2021 season. He did his rehab analyst year at Penn State and them took the VMI HC job. He was CAA Coach of the year while at Richmond and Delaware.

Love idea of an alum but Rocco is 63 and never coached at big time level. We shouldn’t hire a guy over 55 in my opinion unless it’s clear it’s a retirement job for a proven P5 HC/OC- ie Cutclifte, TOB, Mack, Etc.

Gotta be Wes Miller, right?

Louisville rehiring Petrino was one of the funniest things to ever happen in CFB. I’m absolutely rooting for the Arkansas reunion.

just needs to go to the Falcons for the trifecta

that should be the least of your worries regarding how our tax money is being wasted. . . . just saying.

But I get the point, none of it should be wasted to begin with

Former Michigan RB and current Michigan RB coach Mike Hart interviewed with IU yesterday. He was the RB coach early in Tom Allen's tenure at IU.

Did he request to see the playbook to prepare for the interview?
