2023 WF Baseball - Schedule Released

sweet double play on the attempted sac bunt, Deacs lead after 5 and UNC is into the bullpen
 
Damn - 2 run HR to the scoreboard for the Heels. 3-2 bad guys.

And yeah, the color guy's accent is awful.
 
The kid who homered for UNC, Vance Honeycutt, is a freshman from Salisbury. He will be a first round pick in 2024. That was his 15th HR and he's 2nd in the ACC in steals. His dad played for UNC; his mom ran track for UNC.
 
Lowder pitched well again. 7 innings 3 runs 1 BB 6Ks. One mistake.

Given the way UNC's pitchers have performed against ACC lineups this year, that should've been enough to leave the game with a lead.

agreed, bad job by the offense to only have two runs against unc
 
With Hawke’s ability to get on base and speed it seems to make sense to put Kurtz or Reinisch in the 2 hole. They both have great eyes and work the count. Every time Brock homers someone will say this is a stupid move but over the course of a season it’s the right move.
 
Tough loss. WF pitched well, got more hits and walks, committed fewer errors, but managed to lose. Hurts because this was the one game of the series where WF had the clear edge on the mound.
 
Difference in their BP and ours: Their 95 mile per hour plus pitchers can get the ball over the plate consistently.

WF's bullpen pitched a scoreless inning. Not sure what more it could've done.
 
when UNC gifted us two walks, a balk, and two errors in the first two innings, and we only scored two runs, that seemed to be a bad sign.

for the doomsday crowd, Duke lost, so the magic number to get into the ACC tournament is down to 3 (WF wins + Duke losses)

in other words, if WF loses out, Duke still has to win 3 of its last 5 to move past WF into the ACC tournament. Duke closes its season at #5 VT (#rallyboobs)
