$25 Billion down the drain

Fox News is openly claiming that the administration is against protecting Christians abroad.. WTF? They've moved from partisan to irresponsible.

Al-Maliki doubles down and basically tells Obama to fuck off. He's siding with Iran and the Shiites and blaming this shit storm on Saudi Arabia.

"We hold them responsible for supporting these groups financially and morally, and for the outcome of that - which includes crimes that may qualify as genocide: the spilling of Iraqi blood, the destruction of Iraqi state institutions and historic and religious sites," the Iraqi government said of Riyadh in a statement.

Can we at least all agree that the invasion of Iraq was the dumbest thing this nation has ever done on a foreign policy level?

Viet Nam was not as dumb as Iraq. It was stupid, but not close to as stupid as Iraq. In the early 1900s there was no Iraq. They had nothing to do with 9/11 and we knew it. Multiple allies told us not to believe Curveball. It was inevitable that Iraq would devolve into sectarian violence and destablileze the entire region.

As many lies as the traitor MacNamara told, they paled in comparison to what W, Cheney, Wolfie, Rice, Feith, Kristol and others told.

Having lived through both, there is no comparison. Viet Nam was terrible. Nixon allowed tens of thousands to die to get re-relected. However, he didn't lie to start a war that never needed to be fought.

With the example of Vietnam 30-40 years earlier, shouldn't it have been that much easier to make the Iraq mistake? Therefore, Iraq invasion is dumber than Vietnam escalation.

Insert quote about history learn repetition doomed.

It's mind-boggling how many lives our politicians are willing to risk to "prevent" another 9/11.
