A rainy opening night?

The plan seems to be to win OOC games against a Presbyterian, a Utah State, an Army & a bottom-rung P5....then if you can go 2-6 in the conference you can say you were a bowl team.

As many times as you repeat this nonsense and get shown how wrong it is, you just recycle it.

Wake has never gone to a bowl game at 2-6 in the ACC and rarely at 3-5. 3-5 was last year, but we also beat a 4-4 Big 10 Indiana team.

We play ND every 3-4 years, have series with UNC, Purdue and Miss coming up. App State is certainly no game you would schedule if you were just looking for automatic OOC wins. There is only one year between now and 2027 where we don't play ND, UNC, Purdue or Ole Miss OOC and that year we play both Vandy and Air Force.

There are schools in the SEC that follow the scheduling philosophy that you discuss above. Wake isn't one of them. Every once in a great while we might end up with a schedule like that for a particular year, but it is out of the ordinary.

Have no idea why anyone engages that tool.

Almost every Power V team has the same scheduling philosophy. Notre Dame, USC and UCLA are the only Power V programs to have not played an FCS (1-AA) school. Bama plays Mercer this year. Clemson plays the Citadel. Florida State plays Delaware State. Doubt there is any Power V team in the country that has two tougher OOC road games than at ND and at App. State. WF's schedule is tougher than most other Power V teams.

Just so we are dealing in facts all-around, Wake has made 11 bowls:

'46 - No conference record
'49 - No conference record
'79 - 4-2
'92 - 4-4
'99 - 3-5 (Played Army, Rutgers, UAB OOC and won them all)
'02 - 3-5 (Played NIU, ECU, Purdue, and Navy and went 3-1)
'06 - 6-2
'07 - 5-3
'08 - 4-4
'11 - 5-3
'16 - 3-5 (Played Tulane, Delaware, Indiana, and Army and went 3-1)

So 33% of the time Wake has made a bowl they have gone 3-5 (3/9), and never gone 2-6 in the ACC to make a bowl.

3-5 - 3 times
4-4 - 2 times
All other records - 1 time apiece

This year Wake Forest has the 21st hardest schedule in the country heading into the season. The OOC is no joke with @ND (speaks for itself) and @App State (one of the best G5 teams in the country) in addition to the standard FCS game and other G5 game.

There are 4 teams who could go 10 wins (FSU, Clemson, Louisville, App State), and several more who should make a bowl game. The ACC Atlantic Division is without a doubt the hardest division in the country, and on top of that Wake scheduled @ ND and @ App. That is a pretty hard damn schedule in my opinion.

Really strange year to making this tired argument, especially when it's just not rooted in reality whatsoever (but hey, what is rooted in reality these days with BKF?).

You stupid morons are so damn dumb. If you think Wake Forest College can ever be anything other than a doormat in football and average at best in basketball, you're just too stupid to talk to. Jim Grobe lead Wake Forest College to a once in a lifetime season and we'll never see it again. Going to some po-dunk bowl game once or twice a decade is as good as gets for football. Can't believe you talk about reality, when you can't ever see the reality that is Wake Forest College football, you morons!!!!

Yes. Exactly. It's a complaint applicable to every NCAA team at every level and is in no way Wake-specific.

Boob suggests we move down and play fcs competition every week... By complaining about the fact that we play fcs competition once a year
