Makes a lot of sense overall considering the best proxy for crime is inequality (economic and racial predominantly) and I'd imagine violent crime gets an uptick in areas with higher gun ownership.

Baltimore is surprising in that it’s only red. I was there this week and some of the neighborhoods have a 10% violent crime rate.

Baltimore also has a lot of more insulated areas that mitigate that number. I lived in urban Baltimore for years and never had a single incident but was constantly on my toes, which was exhausting.
