Banning Critical Race Theory

They’re trying to gut public education. They don’t care about replacing teachers. They want to use taxpayer money to support home schooling and private schools.

You should probably stop confusing having expectations for persecution. Your party has run public education for about fifty years. If you're looking for the real reasons for its many shortcomings, you should try something new and look inward.

So what do all these book bannings have to do with expectations?

The Democratic Party has run the education system in the South? Typical bullshit. Can you tell us about outcomes in red states vs blue states?

"Righteous, patriotic, Republicans FINALLY have some control over schools and are doing something to stop the socialist indoctrination of our children. I'm glad these books are being removed."

Good job supporting the book burners.

Here is something funny, most of us “tunnels liberal intellectuals” expected these critical race theory laws to devolve into this exact kind of thing, teachers being silenced, books being “removed from the curriculum,” etc. I remember being told though that that was not the purpose of the laws and they would never lead to that kind of thing. Anyway, here we are being lectured about the difference between expectations and persecution a few months later.

Jhmd wants us to believe the GOP is trying to gut the education system because they want to improve the value of public education. Lol

Is your “trying something new” corporate-run for-profit charter schools with extremely low paid and unlicensed teachers?

You understand that when your consistent complaint is that liberals throw money at underperforming schools, your alternative solution is to take those same underperforming students, stick them in a charter school to spend *less* money on them. So? Is that it?

No. Watching you all resist accountability and performance metrics is amazing, but enlightening. Small wonder things never change in anything you guys run.

You are so right, it’s astounding that we haven’t ever implemented “performance metrics” in American public schools. No doubt they would improve education outcomes and definitely not exacerbate economic and racial achievement gaps.

How does banning books and silencing teachers from teaching about aspects of history improve accountability and performance metrics?

I don’t know why you engage on something he wants to talk about without ever an answer or acknowledgment about the current topic at hand, which is conservatives desire to ban books from schools for making them feel like the pieces of shit they know in their hearts they actually are.

Funny post, but it's not amazing and no one is ignoring performance metrics, we differ on how to fix them. We, you vs the rest of us, have different reasons for the underling performance failures. It is a simple matter of differing conceptions of how the system works and responds to inputs. We believe that something very valuable is worth investing more time, money, and effort in, you believe that if something isn't working you should divert the time, money, and effort to a different system that might work better. We believe that the reason things aren't working effectively is that they have been underfunded and need more investment, you believe that we've been investing in the system for decades and it has proven to fail so why throw good money after bad. I think those are both legit hypotheses and valid perspectives and the data are confusing and mixed as to which perspective is correct. Holding one perspective vs the other doesn't make someone stupid or careless, just means we have different perspectives.

Perhaps you could find someone in favor of those policies and ask them.

If the accountability and metrics aren't scalable then useless. Go up to wilkes county and look at the education system.

You haven’t spoken one single word against all of these efforts going on by your chosen Party across the country, am I supposed to read your mind to figure out what you support?

This post should finally put this thread to rest. Should.

Sure seems like there are 100s of shitty Republican positions and ideas that he doesn’t support that in totality make up the party platform. Must really love those tax cuts.
