Banning Critical Race Theory

He says he thought they’d rather focus on things like “all men are created equal”…

Republicans have a major problem with the truth...truth in Politics, truth in American History, truth in personal accountability (wokeism).

anything to keep their racism alive! 'merica!

Glad to see people calling out this BS especially from Fox News presenting white nationalists as everyday disgruntled citizens.

This really does seem to happen quite a bit. Some rando will get on there and twitter will then find out that person is directly associated with some right wing advocacy group or worked for some right wing politician. But it's never disclosed during the interview.

This is what it comes down to. Republicans are addicted to lies.

Went to Monticello last summer. Jefferson did not like to discuss religion and is believed to have been at minimum agnostic (and likely atheist). Tommy boy was apparently very proud that he never sold a slave. He just gave children as gifts ! Don't worry though it was only after they turned 10 ! ! Thanks for visiting. Take a child back home with you ! ! !

saw on the news this morning that regions in Tenn are desperately lacking teachers. they are starting to give huge bonuses to new teachers and still having trouble...this one school district (small county) is missing 18 teachers...when does school start?

i wonder how high destroying/eliminating public education is on the to-do list. guess it doesn't matter once scotus rules on moore v harper. republicans will be able to multi-task and accelerate the death of democracy at that point

It's up there. Now the mcconell court can ensure public funds go to evangelical christian "home school efforts."

Sorry catholics too. They want those sweet sweet tax breaks AND public funds for their political policy indoctrination efforts.

Of course, closing down the library was the whole point.

Jesus. I know that nothing should surprise us about these people anymore, but harassing LGBTQ people to shut down a library is just so damned wrong. A century ago Sinclair Lewis wrote Main Street, a satire of small-town American life. The heroine is the town librarian who struggles to keep her library open and to have a wide variety of books despite the efforts of local smug "church-going folk" to ban certain books, and she constantly faces ridicule and narrow-mindedness. She finally leaves the town. Ironically, the novel was so resented in some small towns that one town in Minnesota banned it from their local library. I suppose it is nice to know that apparently nothing has changed in a hundred years.

If you don't think Republicans would support creating an American institution, don't be surprised they want to destroy it. That goes for public education, libraries, the US Postal Service, or anything that has private alternatives.

"The SOCIALISTS want you to pay for their QUEER BOOKS and read them for free!"

The Music Man also featured a librarian. Her name was Marian the Librarian.

Full disclosure, I've never banged a librarian, or even a media specialist.
