BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - Charles Coleman de-commits to Wake. :(

Trevon Duval went from #1 PG out of high school to undrafted in one year.

It seems as though some players just get it in their heads that they're gone after X amount of years, no matter what their skill level is. It's obvious that's what happened with Duval and would appear that's what happened to at least Craw after watching Collins' success this past year. If one uses that as motivation to improve, then it may work out. However, if you feel entitled to a shot in the NBA, then you likely won't put in the work it takes to get there.

this is 100% what doral was thinking too; one big season "like john" and i'm off to the nba too

But those didn't improve. They would have been picked in much the same slots no matter where they went. Trent also dropped like a rock.

y'all really, really overrate what a coach does for a one-and-done's draft stock

These guys (not just Crawford and Moore many college players) also guys like Harry Giles getting paid to "Play" despite sucking as a college player and only really playing 2 years of high school ball. It is probably pretty easy to look at Giles and think: 'I'm better than him I'm totally gonna get drafted.'

Did coach K and Coach Cal help or hurt their players who went undrafted after a season at their school? They would have all been drafted first round if not forced to go to college. At some point, it should go back to the lack of development but hose dudes are Teflon for whatever reason.

Its difficult to argue against what Cal has done at Kentucky to get his players drafted. There have been a few guys that have fallen, but for the large part he has really helped all of the young men who came through his program to make it to the NBA.

Cal hasn't done much for a vast majority of the players that have been drafted from KY. With the exceptions of Cauley-Stein and Gabriel, almost all the rest would have been high picks regardless of where they went.
