BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - Charles Coleman de-commits to Wake. :(

Jaylen didn't make it. Only Top 20 ESPN player not to make it. Our SID and his assistants should be ashamed.

Is he top 20 anywhere besides ESPN? He's #25 on the RSCI rankings from this summer. He was on the fringe. Relax.

E.J. Montgomery made it. He is one of the players with "undecided" college choice. Reel him in, Danny!

Its the SID of the school a kid commits to who has the job to get a kid into the McDAA game? Really?

It's part of his job. how do you think players like David McCormack and other guys rated out of the Top 30 have made it over the years?

Basically 24/7 screwed him. He is 16 by Van Coleman, 19 by ESPN, 25 by Scout and 29 by Rivals... then 43 by 24/7.

The McDonald's roster goes pretty much straight down the RSCI list - #s 1-22 all got in (except for #9 who is the guy going to Louisville so I assume that is related to the scandal). Then they skip 23, 24 (Ayo) and 25 and take 26, 27 and 32.

Speaking of McCormack, Jaylen is ranked higher than McCormack by 4 out of the 5 ranking services used by the RSCI. The margin by those 4 services is 4 spots, 4 spots, 14 spots and 14 spots, all in favor of Jaylen. 24/7 on the other hand, has McCormack 17 spots higher...

So they skipped players committed to UF/LSU/Oregon, Illinois, and Wake Forest to take players committed to UNC and Kansas and one of the top undecideds.

Makes total sense.

UNC's SID must have done a GREAT job.

All the recruiting sites, McD's voters, and especially ESPN do their best to prop up players going to UNC, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and occasionally UCLA. For example, Coby White is a great HS player, but #25 across the board? I think not, some of these rankings and accolades are "Fake News", especially out of the mouth of Paul Biancardi. Its like they have a vested interest in keeping some sort of elite status quo at 5 or 6 schools. Young minds see this year in and year out and it perpetuates this mentality of elite players going to the same 5-6 basketball programs that the media props up.

Imagine French players are at a disadvantage. Not worried about it because Hoard can play which is our main concern.

Once we lock up EJ, I'm not too worried who is labeled what. We'll have a damn squad next season!

After the good information you gave us over the summer, you shouldn't make blanket statements such as this. You're going to make people insane.

so is Zion going to UNC?
Seems like Clemson. Not sure how his game translates to the NBA. He's super athletic but chunky as hell and really can't shoot a lick.
