Can the ACC become a quality Power 5 league?

After going a dismal 1-5 in non-con games last week, it is looking bad again this year. Top heavy again with Clemson and maybe NC State this year in Top 10 right now and more sprinkled to Top 20. But top leagues don’t lose while ranked to lowly MTSU (getting spanked actually), beaten again by ODU, wiped out by lowly Illinois, and losing at home to B10 bottom feeder Rutgers.

Just wanted to jump in here and point out that Texas A&M lost to App State a couple of weeks ago and Florida almost lost to USF before Pilchard or someone loses his shit.

South Carolina is 0-2 in the SEC this year (again) and has never really been competitive in the league. They lost to Georgia 48-7 this year. They lost to Arkansas by two touchdowns, but it was never particularly close. Should the SEC kick them out? Discuss.

The Mizzou-Auburn game was just awful. Both schools should be kicked out.

I guess these are the threads you choose to start when your team is currently 0-2 in conference, including a 41-point beatdown at home where the most notable thing that happened was your coach yelled at a bunch of female student-athletes that were being honored during a timeout to "get off the field".....

Wake 1-0 against the SEC. Would've beaten the mighty CFP-bound TAMU in the Gator Bowl.

You can edit titles and you still managed to fuck it up.

CFB was better, IMO, when it was a bunch of 8-10 team leagues. More competitive and well-rounded and regional, and no conference really had an advantage over the other as a result of TV deals or whatever. That includes the ACC, even though we were garbage back then.

But can you imagine a CFB playoff with the conference setup from the 70s and 80s? PAC, Big 8, SWC, SEC, Big 10, ACC, maybe the occasional WAC team, and independents that included ND, Penn State, and Miami.

The Atlantic has 5 ranked teams out of 7. Pitt is also ranked.

North Carolina is clearly the best CFB state this year with Wake, State, Carolina, Duke, and App. Florida? No. Georgia? No. Alabama? No. Texas? Fuck no.

I would have gone along with you until Duke got beaten by the mighty Jayhawks. Let's see if the UNC-CH can hold Va Tech under 40.

To be fair, Kansas seems to have made a rather dramatic turnaround into a decent enough team. They are 4-0 and beat a reasonably decent WVU (who played Pitt tight and beat the brakes off VaTech)
