Car Insurance/Totaled Car Question

My daughter just got in a 10 MPH fender bender vs parked car in a new bronco sport. Shop called yesterday and they think it might be totaled (its pretty much a single dent!!). It drives completely fine no issues other than cosmetic. But apparently when they pulled it apart it affected quarter panel, lift gate, roof etc.

It sucks on multiple fronts not least of which we got a 0% loan from Ford before Xmas which will be impossible to replicate now.

I guess? But wouldn’t they prefer to do the work? They claimed they consulted with Travelers on it…

what would shop have to gain by lying? unless they're offering to buy it from him - was that what was happening?

Do you have a USAA Five star shop nearby? They are usually pretty good at fixing instead of totalling. And no, you don't have to be insured by USAA to use those shops.
