Ain't played nobody, PAWL!
Are there actual bidding wars for these rights deals? It just seems like very few networks could handle the production logistics of ESPN.
Non-NBA fans hate on the NBA. Sure Ohio St-Michigan gets more viewers than most playoff games but the long NBA season is good consistent content.
College football lasts from August to mid January with some slight interest on signing day. NBA season starts in October and the playoffs end in June with the draft, free agency, and Summer League taking the stage through mid-July. The functional offseason is only really 2 months. The NBA takes up a lot of what round otherwise be an empty summer schedule.
Add in Wemby and Scoot, the in-season tournament, Lebron and or vs Bronny, end of Steph and the Warriors dynasty, etc. ESPN will spend for the NBA and that could hurt the next college football deals.
Florida State, Miami and Clemson would be widely considered the ACC's three strongest schools in terms of revenue generation from the football side of things
It's just lazy journalism. Because those three schools have the richest football history, it's easy to say "they're most coveted by the SEC." When in fact lots of more in-depth reporting has shown various other angles to this, such as 1) FSU may actually be more desirable to the B1G than the SEC, UNC may be more valuable than any of these three other schools, etc.from that article:
not sure why this is accepted as fact.
Last year Miami played UNC, FSU, and Clemson. Those were Miami's only 3 ACC games with reported TV viewership. Total eyeballs: 3.89 million
Last year WFU played UNC, FSU, and Clemson. Those were WFU's only 3 ACC games with reported TV viewership. Total eyeballs: 6.27 million
Miami did also play aTm, and 3.4 million people watched that boring game. WF needs to schedule better OOC.
why would anyone watch McAffee's show? who wants to see some donk in a tank top standing and yelling for a few hours?
Was just joshingL-R is the only football school on that list. The other 3 in order are tennis, golf and basketball schools.
not sure why this is accepted as fact.
Expectations may die somewhat after LSU sticks their foot up F$U's ass come September 3That's not what FSU wants. They just want $15 million more regardless of performance.
