Conference Expansion: Stanford, California and SMU Join the ACC

Go big or go home. Take all 4 PAC leftovers. That's 18. Figure it out from there.

1997 ACC matchup in the NCAAT second round -- Tim Duncan v. Mike Madsen !!!!

BTW, Madsen is the current head coach at Cal.

Stanford has a $36 billion endowment. Currently, the ACC leader is Duke with $12 billion (Notre Dame is at $16B).

Top endowments among Power V schools:

1. Stanford $36B (only Harvard and Yale have larger endowments)
2. Notre Dame $16B
3. Northwestern $14B (going to be less when Ben Crump is finished)
4. Duke $12B
5. Vandy $10B
6. USC (Southern Cal) $7B
7. TCU $2.4B
8. Baylor $1.9B
9. WF $1.8B
10. Cuse $1.7B

So we are taking the Beavers and Butch the Cougar along with the Bears and Cardinal???

Meanwhile the Cal athletic department is half a billion dollars in debt.

Top 20 debt leaders by conference:

Pac 12: 5
Big 10: 4
SEC: 4
Big 12: 3
ACC: 2
MWC: 2

SEC will jump to the top of the debt leader standings once the Pac 12 dissolves and Texas and OU join. Someone needs to figure out how to balance a budget.

There's nothing wrong with have a bunch of debt if you have a bunch of revenue.

If they’re doing Stanford and Cal, they could have done Oregon and Washington too. So ridiculous.
exactly. some dumb to wait for the best Pac10 teams to go to other conferences and then decide to take whats left. so absurd
