Coron Williams

He's the 3rd guard, so he's bound to have some ball handling duty. Zero turnovers in the number of minutes he's played against ACC competition is pretty impressive for anybody, I would think.

#1 nationally in turnover rate, but he almost never functions as the primary ball handler on the court. Even Ovaltine plays more point than Coron.

He's had a couple of games where he has contributed below expectations, ... but, he has also had some games where his contribution was most important - we don't win those without them. So, a mix, but he's a positive as we have recently (seasons) lost more than won.

I thought zero turnovers in ACC play so far, was a pretty good contribution.

Certainly not a bad thing, but it is more of a function of his role. Catch and shoot or pass back out to the top. We don't feed the post at all so he literally has two options. He never penetrates.

Wait. Wasn't his only made FG yesterday a layup?

The team and program has many issues but Coron Williams is not one of them. Yes he is in a slump, but he has been a very positive addition. Geez

He has had 2 poor games in a row. We might have had a chance to win the 'cuse game if he could have hit a few shots when we were down by 3. He was AWOL yesterday

Yeah, except he hit the biggest shot of the game yesterday. We were down 7, shot a 3 that bounced around the rim and fell through, Wake down 4. But wait Cav grabbed the net and the refs huddle to waive off his 3 for basket interference.

This shouldn't be surprising. There is a reason he Was at Robert Morris.

Not to mention that I didn't think with the "culture" that Wellman wanted that we did not take One & Done's. That is exactly what Coron Williams is. He is here one year and done.

Yeah, that sucked.

In fairly sure never wasn't meant to be read literally in Wrangor's post.

Kind of like saying that Madison Jones never takes a jump shot. It happens, but it is almost by accident when it does. Maybe a more salient explanation would be: Jeff [Redacted] never wears attractive ties.

I am not cracking on Coron. Kid seems like a good addition. He has helped, but he is limited as a player, and when he isn't making jump shots he doesn't have a whole lot else to offer. He took an opportunity to play big time college basketball, and has made the most of it. When his stroke is on he is HUGE for our tea, because we have almost no one else that can hit an open three save the streaks of Cav and McKie.

It's pretty easy for a long term 38% 3 pt shooter to miss 11 out of 13 just from variance and statistical noise. Doesn't mean he needs to play less or shoot less.

It's not really a big deal. Cooney from Syracuse is an elite 3 pt specialist and he went 0 for 5 vs Wake. Had a 3 game stretch of 7 for 32 early in ACC play. Just happens.

I'm not sure what anyone really expected from this kid. He's made some shots and filled a position not unlike Steve Lepore. Williams is the least of our problems.

That means it didn't count. Therefore 3 points did not stay on the board.

People were expecting CJ. Which was stupid. CJ was a very good all around player.

This. It's worth noting that, expected dip in 3FG% aside, Coron's production is exactly where it was last year for RMU.

Exactly so. And teams are now putting some length on him to cut his offensive production.
