Covid-19 - Treatments & Vaccines

Maybe that's easy, actually

Yeah. The one who is still alive is the worst one.

What about a aggressively ignorant covid downplayer that has gotten both doses and then jumped the line for an early booster third dose? And then when testing positive after one of his unmasked downplaying events gets so freaked out that he jumps the line again to get expensive Trump style 1%er treatment for an asymptomatic case?
Ugh, the worst!

Florida is literally running out of oxygen because of COVID hospitalizations.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Long before hospitals were using liquid oxygen to help save the lives of COVID-19 patients, Orlando Utilities Commission has relied on the substance to help purify and clean its water.
Liquid oxygen is now in short supply due to a record number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients, and OUC said its supply is running low. That forced the utility company on Friday to call on its water customers to cut back on their water usage immediately.

Liquid oxygen removes hydrogen sulfide, a colorless gas, from the water. The gas, if not removed, gives the water a strong rotten egg smell.
The utility company said it has a lower than normal supply of liquid oxygen because it is also being used to help treat COVID-19 patients at local hospitals.

Labs in Florida state universities and businesses also aren't able to get their supplies of liquid nitrogen because trucks are being converted to handle liquid oxygen.

did you see the economic growth numbers though?

DeSantis continues to play politics with covid. Meanwhile in Orlando...

We don't have clean running water and we're dying from a preventable disease, but we're making the liberals mad and we have freedom!

I don’t think people who chose to be a burden on society should get priority for oxygen over clean drinking water for the entire city.

The Orlando liberals like Val Demings don't have clean running water. Suck it libs!

Florida State Board of Education gives school districts in Broward and Alachua Counties 48 hours to rescind their masking mandates or gradually lose state funding equal to the salaries of their school board members.

"The Florida Department of Education said it then will start gradually withholding state funds -- equal to 1/12 of the salaries of the board members, monthly -- "until each district demonstrates compliance," according to a statement. The order prohibits the districts from letting the reduction of funds "impact student services or teacher pay" and requires them to report to the state any instance in which they enforce their "unlawful" mask mandate. The state board kept open the possibility of additional sanctions.

Friday's crackdown came after weeks of threats from the education department and Gov. Ron DeSantis' office, including an emergency meeting of the state board Tuesday in which the chair, Tom Grady, suggested that sanctions against Alachua and Broward could include removing school officials from their elected posts.

Leaders in both school districts told ABC News Friday that they will not reverse their mask mandates and will take legal action against the state. "It's not legal what the governor is doing. We think he has overstepped his purview," said Dr. Rosalind Osgood, chair of the Broward County School Board. [US] Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said on Friday he supported both districts, adding in a statement that President Joe Biden and his administration "stand with them and with all educators who put student and staff health and education first." Neither district would definitively say whether they will take up the Biden administration's recent offer to let them use federal money to cover the withheld funds. Osgood said accepting the money would amount to "taking money away from education," emphasizing that "it's about the kids." Simon, meanwhile, noted in her statement that the Alachua County Commission has offered to make up the loss of funding.

I guess we'll see if the Biden Administration is willing to back these districts and try to block the FL GOP state government from carrying out this threat via legal action. Yet another example of your small-government, local control GOP at work.

Is Disney World open? Seems wrong to tell residents of Orlando to not drink or bathe so some tourist can slide down a waterslide.

How it started/How it's going...

Yep. Not technically in Orlando so they probably skirt it but Universal, Sea World, and their water parks and water rides are.

Any comment on what the Orlando city officials (including the mayor) actually said, Angus? Are they just making it all up to hurt your boy?

Not familiar with the comment from Orlando city officials - Let me first check out Josh Marshall's talking points memo or Joy Reid's twitter feed and get back to you on that.

Are they just making it all up to hurt your boy?

No idea - But it wouldn't be the first time (nor will it be the last) the left attempted to smear DeSantis with a bullshit claim.

Remind me again a week or so ago who posted the *debunked* dox attempt on his kids' private school? Can you refresh my memory on that?

Any updates here from the crack Tunnels investigation squad??

If that call position is still open right now it's a story. If not, it's a nothingburger.
