Are you hiring mindless drones? I can’t imagine being part of a team who were chosen solely based on their resume.

It is the nature of the position. The commitment is for a semester or a summer, which can be extended. The work is mostly research with short, mainly written, communication. Over about 20 years we have hired four of these people permanently. Those hires come about from timing and ability. We do not have positions available often. Of course when offer someone a permanent spot who has worked for us we do not care about what GPA they ended up getting or anything on their resume.

the new hotel circa in downtown vegas looks really cool. giant sportsbook and stadium swim looks awesome.

the restaurant scene in vegas is underrated. basically all the big restaurants in NYC and LA have vegas outposts. Robuchon (RIP), Morimoto, Michael Mina, Carbone, Julian Serrano (who lives there), Wolfgang Puck and a shitton of others have really good restaurants there. off the strip there are some really good asian places. lotus of siam might be some of the best thai in the country. tacos el gordo is a delight. the tiki rooms are really awesome dive bars. there's some good craft beer too.

it's not the same right now but the entertainment is awesome, especially now that there's pro hockey and football on the strip. golden knights games are fun af.

I like blackjack, sometimes slots. rj's right, the nerds ruined everything and comps were hard to come by. mgm resorts lost a billion last year so the comps are actually getting good and hopefully they scrap awful resort fees and end this paid parking bs.

all of that said, I see the appeal of going to miami or new orleans and scratching the blackjack itch one night at the hard rock or harrah's respectively but enjoying those cities the rest of the time. i'm kind of sick of vegas after having to go for conventions there every other year. I always like going w people who've never been though, always fun to see a newbie perspective.

Nope, but I read the forums where that gofundme is being discussed and the owner mentions it. He sounded like he'll need to do another gofundme in a few months, so there will be time. Still finishing up my collection, had Lord of the Rings delivered today!

Have you gotten you Fireball yet?

There's one a few miles from where I live, I'll check it out! My oldest one is a 2003. I eventually want a few of the older simpler ones. Sometimes they really hit the spot. I stayed away from them because I was worried I'm too dumb to figure out how to repair them. Turns out I'm too dumb to figure out how to repair the new ones too.

There used to be a game/TV/pool room on the first floor of Reyolda Hall. As you enter RH, you'd make a left and go to the end of the hall. I think the Fireball in there bought the vendor a nice house. Having three balls in play and spinning while you were wasted made for a good time.

My first period class just told me I was built like a bell pepper and I'm probably gonna spend the rest of the day trying to figure out what the fuck that means.

One of my students just turned this in as his free-verse poetry assignment.

The FitnessGram Pacer test is a multistage,
Aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues,
The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds,
Line up at the start,
The running speed starts slowly,
But progressively get faster each minute after you hear this sound,
*ding*
A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound,
*also ding*
Remember to run in a straight line,
And to run for as long as possible,
The second time you fail to complete a lap before you hear the sound,
Your test is over,
The test will begin on the word start,
On your mark,
Get ready,
Start!

I bit my lip incredibly hard this morning. 0/10 do not recommend.

Bell Pepper
having pretty eyes , even pretty nipples , but when you clothes are removed you look like a pickle. ( in the words of a Baton Rouge rapper Nussie )

a very very badly shaped person who is very round at the top and had the butt of the bottom of a bell pepper
Khia: dang we in a room full of bell peppers.
Olivia : the world , is a bell pepper?
Khia : *points finger* that chick there there there and even that man.
