CT3.28: Talkin' Meh and Bananas

Will be interesting to see how paternity leave hits differently on the second child 😬, it was pretty chill with just one. I guess it'll depend on daycare situation for the older kiddo. I'll probably split it up into 2 weeks after birth to help around house while wife is recovering and then the remaining 6 weeks I have a little more freedom with this time. Might wait until the kid is like 6-8 months old when they're in the "golden zone".. still a potted plant (don't need to be chased) but can sit up and stuff and don't need constant feeding/napping.

I have no tats, but my lil brother has a TON. He's got a few that are absolute :poop: from his younger days and friends giving them to him but lately has put some pretty cool looking ones on now that he's got an actual jerb.

And happy World Poetry Day

If—

Launch Audio in a New Window
BY RUDYARD KIPLING

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
That was mean.

Also, not knowing what a knave fine is, that's allowed, you said you have read this poem a hundred times, whatever, that's your lie, but not knowing how to pronounce sinew?

Also I have no idea how she still has her job, but the GC got the old heave-ho.

Spent a weekend with a girl in college that had 30% of her body covered in mushroom tats. To this day I can't think of her name so she's "shrooms tats" if she's ever brought up.

I'm imagining the fungi tattoos around her cooter and the button mushroom tats around her areolas.

And you should come up with a better nickname.

haha, I knew a girl in DC who had her back covered in butterfly tattoos, cant remember her name, but I remember those tattoos.

When I was 18 and working at a college bookstore I once asked a hot redhead out that had skull tats all over. She turned me down, but she was nice about it
