Devin Thomas Appreciation Thread

Not to highjack this thread but Moto looked really good today. He's getting better. Devin is a beast who just needs to develop his offense. He will.

devin adds a dimension wake just hasn't had the past two seasons.

If devin's hands improve and he starts making his layups or just finishing a little stronger, he's going to be a beast. I'm pretty confident in those improvements taking place.

Definitely happy with him. Now if he could just start making some free throws, but that will come I guess.

needs to watch out with the stare-down / taunting stuff. excited for his future. he is a baller

DT has NBA potential, if he hits the weight room and works on his mid-range jumper he will have a very very bright future !!

Devin has been tremendous the last couple of games on the boards and on defense. The guy wants to own the lane on defense. He's also getting better and better at pushing his man ever more and more away from the basket. Consequently, the opposing big is out of his range, or comfort zone, when he gets the ball and becomes much less effective. Averaging over ten rebounds a game for the last four games speaks for itself. Go Devin!

That's basically two clean game-winning blocks in a row for Devin. On this one he had to come help after Rountree was beaten - just a really nice defensive play.

You see the kid improving every game. After letting Tobey get the ball too low and not making him uncomfortable, he hawks Anderson from the lane to the 3 point line all day and never lets him settle in or get an easy shot. Early in the year he was losing a lot of rebounds off his finger tips - now it seems like if he gets his hands near the ball he's going to end up with it. He also had 4 or 5 controlled tip-outs.

Once he figures out his spacing on those pick and rolls he's going to be sick. One time last night he slipped the screen and caught the ball in the perfect spot where he didn't have to dribble and made an easy layup. Once he's more confident and those start turning into dunks... Look out.

Lets not forget the kid had a procedure on his knee right before the season started. Dude is just going to keep gettin better.

He was fantastic yesterday. We don't win that game without him. He's really our only consistent rebounder, and he is VERY good at it, and will get better. This team has been needing one desperately for a couple years. He's got to get 30mpg to keep us from getting killed on the boards, so he's going to be playing a lot more. He could make a run at Wake's all time rebouding record. He just wants every one of them badly. It is great to see. And he's been very smart about it and avoiding fouls for the most part. Based on what we heard from high school, that part has been a really pleasant surprise.

Loved his hustle. Thought Rountree exhibited similar motor.

Rountree had 4 steals in 7 minutes of action.

Thomas, with his 7'0 wingspan, is the center piece of this recruiting class...but he is just the first to really emerge and shine. I really like Moto (3-3/6pts/5Reb in 17 minutes), Miller-Mac, Cav...

These guys have a ways to go and some bruises yet to come but you can see a 'team' developing. It will be diificult to replace C.J. and Travis but this is a nice nucleus with Green and the new recruits set to join in 2014.

I laughed at the Dennis Rodman comparison made last night on the broadcast. Once he gets stronger and learns how to finish, he's a double double machine.

Tree, at 18 yrs. of age, defends like a poor man's Stacy Augmon. His gangliness, length and enthusiasm is unsettling to ball handlers.

Giminski did get one thing right. He's got double double written all over him.
