Diamond Deacs 2019 (Offseason) | 5 Deacs Drafted

I believe Seymour was 2nd in the nation in RBIs with a ridiculous 92 RBI in 55 games. Understand that's its hard to give POY to a player on team that finished 10th out of 14 teams, but his numbers were crazy good.

He's first, and it's the most for a D-1 player since Buster Posey had 93 in 2008 -- before the switch to BBCOR bats. Just as incredible that Nos. 2-5 in the country for RBIs are all from the same damn team, apparently: https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/individual/487

I didn't even realize Lanzilli is in the top 10 in the country with his 67 RBIs, but that number looks so small when he's got Seymour batting behind him.

NM State has the top offense every year. I can't remember if their park is tiny, elevated, or wind factors, but you have to massively adjust their offensive stats.

Even with mediocre pitching, this team would be a solid 2 seed.

Diamond Deacs play FSU at 3 pm today. The game is televised on regional sports networks.

Colin Peluse v. Scott Parrish. Parrish started and beat Peluse a couple of weeks ago in a 13-2 FSU win over WF. That said, Parrish has been hittable all year. His last time out Parrish lasted one inning plus against L'ville and gave up 10 runs before being pulled with no outs in the 2nd; in his start before that, Pitt beat FSU and Parrish 10-0. For the season, Parrish is 7-5 with a 5.07 ERA.

For WF to win, Deacs will likely need to outslug the Noles.

Anecdotally though, it does feel like we've had some troubles against lefties. Wonder if we'll play any platoon matchups (possibly Mueller over Turconi or Poteet)

Agree that we will need to put up some runs. Hopefully we can get 4-5 strong innings from Peluse as he has been good for that in the last 3 games including against FSU as he wasn't the one that got badly dinged. Time to really play Menendez, Hearn and Fleming and try to get 2-3 innings each from them for both games and then possibly others later in games based on matchups. No time to play the others that have just flat out struggled all year. Have to win these 2 and would hope you could play those 3 a few innings with a days rest between games knowing this is your season.

Our start time will probably be pushed back. No telling how long this BC/Clemson game will go.

none of us feel too bad for Klempton ... always glad to see them go down ....

great to see when not even the umpires can prevent Klempton from going down! ball game!

great to see the refs a bit more impartial today than they were at Klempton last week which will come in handy in a close game ....

the out call on the ground ball to the Clemson shortstop that was called safe and then overturned foul when clearly the review did not show enough evidence to overturn it was maybe the worst call in college baseball history and rivaled the non-PI calls in the famous football game where we got robbed ... hopefully those umpires have been banned for life .... calls today have been much more fair ...

Mike Martin said that's it's still early and lots of baseball to be played ... let's prove him wrong and show him that all the baseball playing will be from our Deacs!

We have struck out 8 times in 10 total outs and lead 4-0. LOL

We've left 4 RISP in the last two innings. This thing should be a rout. Hope it doesn't come back to hurt us.
