The lack of running a fake punt is not one of WF's current issues. However, playing VT in Blacksburg where Beamer made a career out of doing things like that successfully and not being prepared to defend against a fake punt definitely makes the list of things that went wrong yesterdayI don’t think the lack of fake punts cracks the top 100 of Wake’s issues right now
Same, and even that one wasn't really all that much trickery. If we ever run a fake punt it is bound to go for a TD. Easy to lull opposing coaches into a false sense of security when you go literally decades between trick plays.I'm sure there have been others, but last trick play I vividly remember was running up the score against Louisville after Wakeyleaks.
The fumblerooski derivatives are my favorites and it often leads to a big gain. The Pats attempt against Atlanta in the Superbowl before going to OT would have been an all-timer. Lewis had a ton of blockers in front of him if he cut it back!
Does anyone remember Presbyterian running the bounce-pass fake against WF in 2010?
