That's the funny thing. Losing CJ, we don't have a chance at the NCAA tourney next year. So if Buzz is back, what will be the lowered expectation next year? I thought this year (Year 3) was the make or break year.

Exactly. If they say "Well it will be tough to make the tournament without CJ" then why couldn't Bz make the tournament with him?

The "math" just doesn't work out. We're a LOOONG way from being a tournament team. Here is the problem:

F = freshmen

If F + TM + CJ = 13 wins, how does F*improvement + SM + Other Recruits = 20+ wins?

We're going to need either Mitchell, Overton, and McClinton to be significantly better than CJ and McKie AND we're going to need incredible improvement from the freshmen.

Do people really think that's going to happen? Have we ever had a freshman class go from being the core of an under .500 team with two All-ACC HM players to being the core of an NCAA Tournament team?

No. The tourney teams had top recruits and a different coach. It would be hard to see that type of rise happen here without similar level recruits (plural) and a new coach.
