First Charges Filed in Mueller Investigation

The real problem is that the Russians have successfully undermined American democracy with the way they have fueled American public opinion throughout this whole process

Not that bad? Let's look at what we now know after today:

-Flynn lied to the FBI
-Flynn contacted the Russian ambassador in an effort to undermine sanctions imposed by the Obama administration for meddling in an American presidential election (all before Trump was in office)
-Sources close to both Flynn and Trump say that Trump advised Flynn to make contact with the Russians during the campaign
-Once again Flynn undermined American foreign policy by asking Kislyak to defeat a UN Security Council resolution condemning Israel for its resettlement policy
-Kushner also advised Flynn to develop a relationship with Russia during the campaign.

Not that bad? Your heads would explode is Hillary did a tenth of this.

And these are just the things we know about.

You think obama, Biden, and Hillary didn’t have backchannel discussions with foreign governments when trying to make things happen? I’d be disappointed in them if they didn’t.

And you really think Hillary didn’t lie to the FBI? Lo fucking l

All of which the american people elected Trump to be able to do, and all of which would have been fine to do 3 weeks later once sworn in. It was transition. Holy nothingburger.

Looks like all of the resident trump shills finally took their nightly dose of fake news and propaganda. Welcome back.

If you guys think this is where the investigation ends, you clearly aren't paying attention This will go on for years and multiple people will end up in jail.

This whole scandal will go down as one of the darkest periods in American history. Our kids will be reading about it in history class years and wondering what the hell half of our country was thinking in 2016/2017.

This. It’s going to make Watergate look like much ado about nothing.

That is *a* real problem, yes. There are others also.

What is the scandal again? That the president-elect's team spoke to an ambassador during transition? I mean the emails have lasted for years, doesn't make it any less of a nothingburger.

Don't be shocked to see this end up being about the hundreds of millions that Trump properties laundered for Putin's buddies. Look at Trump Twoer, Soho and his property in FL where Putin's buddy paid $95M, never went there and flew his plane to at least five Trump campaign events.

It sounds like Pence has also lied.

Then why'd they lie about it?

prolly cause the FBI leaks like a faucet

There hasn’t been a single leak from Mueller’s team and it seems like most of the leaks from the FBI prior to Mueller taking over the investigation were from agents throwing false info out to clear Trump.

The real answer is they're probably pathological liars. Everyone knows it and thats why people are going batshit insane and just going after something hoping it sticks.

Doesn't change the fact this particular thing is meh, just like emails! was meh and benghazi was meh. Whole lotta meh comes from hatred.

They can prolly get him on tax fraud though, should be going that route insteada the Russia route. Russia route won't go anywhere, no matter how much popcorn Newengland wants ya to make.

This. Plus all of the ties to organized crime.

And yes...colluding with Russia to interfere in the election too. There is already evidence of working together. What remains to be seen is just how deep it went and who was involved.

Are we talking about the Trump kids and Roger Stone trying to play opposition researcher?

Or are we talking about a quid pro quo...perhaps sanctions relief for a disinformation campaign? Or maybe a promise to not defend further advances into Ukraine in exchange for releasing hacked emails?

The last two scenarios are much more egregious than the first scenario but the first one is still a really big fucking deal.

Unless of course you Trump apologists - who love to rail against globalist cucks - are cool with a foreign power both undermining an American election and directing American policy.

I'm generally going under the assumption if any of these deals you suggest were actually made, Trump wouldn't be stupid enough to publicly ask for Russia to release hacked shit in election speeches, and Russians wouldn't be sending adoption lawyers who leak to the press.

Russia didn't need quid pro quo to realize they might be better off with Trump in the WH.

Hahaha are you serious? Trump wouldn't be stupid enough to say something he shouldn't?

Yeah okay.

Trump can't be the dumbest president of all time and also mastermind a coordination with the Russians to trade Ukraine for the Oval Office at the same time.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you can. Although I wouldn't use the word mastermind because this entire relationship has been anything but masterful.

I'm pretty certain Trump could give two fucks about Ukraine and would gladly give it away (figuratively) in exchange for help in the election or even just to be a dick to Hillary Clinton.

You don't need to be a mastermind to make that deal. You just need someone to float it and Trump the narcissistic ignoramus to say yes. That's all.

Do you believe Trump won the Presidency because of Russian election interference?

We've been arguing about whether Trump (or his team) did something illegal and whether this story is "meh" or not. What does your question have to do with that?

Well it's inherently meh if your answer is no. If the answer is no, this whole thing is just losers whining.

Couldnt disagree more.

So if some dude tries to fuck with your high stakes poker game at Treasure Island but doesn't actually impact the game...that's meh to you?
