FUCK YOU, RON WELLMAN

Been awhile since I've been on here, but just stopped by to say FUCK YOU RON. Whoever is organizing the billboards over the next year can count on me to contribute. I'd consider driving/flying down from Philly for a day for one of the many protests that will hopefully be organized.

Ron should be forced to:
- Sit with Manning and take questions at every postgame press conference
- Answer every email from alums
- Host a daily radio show and take every call
- Jump off a fucking bridge

Yeah badmouthing Currie is crazy talk. He can't do much right now, the way his hiring was arranged. At least we are getting rid of Wellman. So this could be worse. We could be keeping Manning AND Wellman. Apocalypse.

This post may not age very well, and it's only been two days.

I hope he lives to be 115 years old while experiencing the symptoms of the common cold every freaking day, 24 hours a day, until that bastard croaks.

Wake is a clown show, they should have had some kind of announcement by now. This should stay front and center. The silence from the school is telling and it isn't good. Wake is weak and pitiful. There is nothing Wake can say that makes it necessary for Manning to coach next year. If he has to be there next year then make him keep stats and hand out towels. If he stays then that is three more years wake sucks. Make some announcement for crying out loud if nothing more than " hey fans we have our thumb up our ass and we have decided to keep in there another year, sorry and we will see you at the Joel!"

WEAK FLORIST IS HERE TO STAY!!! WOOO!!!11

Sadly, we as fans sometimes believe the big donors will rescue us from this type of fiasco. The fact of the matter is that the mega donors are in it primarily to feed their own ego. Part of the ego trip is to have personal access, and ultimately friendship with the head coaches and players. They want to be buddy-buddy with Danny, hang out with CP3, txt and travel with JC, etc. In short, their longing for access and friendships takes precedence over success of the program. So when the time comes to make hard decisions, the emotional investment is too great to do what’s ultimately best for all involved. Sadly, this gives guys like Wellman the cover they need to keep eating from the trough while the average fan suffers. Sort of the same thing happens when an owner of a pro franchise gets too close to the players. This will ultimately result in a lose-lose-lose outcome: fans lose, program loses, and the donor finally realizes he flushed millions into a dark hole. Thanks a million (or 7) fellas!!

Have posted some of this elsewhere, but here is some data to show how far we've fallen:

Worst 10 year stretch since we joined the ACC, the rolling average will be worse next year without a winning record in conference.

From when Odom was hired until Dino was let go we were ranked in season 15/21 times (including a top 5 ranking in 6 seasons), since then we've been ranked in season 0/9 times.

Ridiculous that Ron is allowed to let this continue, just pathetic.

Hypothetically, what safeguards (institutional, legal, financial, etc.) exist to prevent an employee at a private business/institution from

(1) awarding a fully-guaranteed eight-figure contract extension to an underperforming subordinate,
(2) announcing his or her retirement approximately sixteen months thereafter, AND
(3) successfully collecting a "retirement gift" kickback or other subsequent financial benefits (to friends, family, or self) from portions of the proceeds from the eight-figure extension?

Not that I am suggesting anything like that took place, of course.

Great content for the Lost Decade website. I would flip the Y axis on that last chart so #1 is top.

So what are the odds JC undoes this decision? Old Ronnie said it was entirely his decision.

Not bloody likely! Hatch would never allow that plus he wouldn't want to offend his mentor......

Plus the timing in May would not be good......

When did he say this? Wasn't this just our faulty assumption since no one should be so daft as to agree to this when taking over an AD having been castrated from the very start. Unless Wellman's retirement date was 3/1, JC probably should have seen this coming. But he likely knew EXACTLY what he was doing and is now complicit in perpetuating the extension of our Lost Decade into the next generation and perhaps two decades!! Bravo.

I would help finance the closets clearly visible billboard to Ron's house that shames his legacy. We he has done is borderline criminal.

but wouldn't that be the case with other schools' mega donors? Is there something inherently different about Wake Forest mega donors?

Clearly they’re more tolerant of losing. But that’s been apparent for awhile.
