General Election Thread: Two Weeks Out

"Trump is the candidate who has been acting more "presidential" lately. He has taken the time to go to two places where he knew he had minimal support....while Hillary Clinton has not even been willing to take a question at a press conference in nine months. "

Just when I think BKF can't get any crazier, I am proven wrong.

How is it "presidential" to meet with one of our top 4 trading partners and LIE to his face to the world?

How is it "presidential" to then go to a rally and call that world leader out?

No world leader will EVER trust Trump after his little fiasco this week. Only fools would believe otherwise.

Trump is the candidate who has been acting more "presidential" lately. He has taken the time to go to two places where he knew he had minimal support....while Hillary Clinton has not even been willing to take a question at a press conference in nine months.

And for DeacWatcher's post #4443 in particular, Hillary's poll numbers are beginning to take a toll as a result of all of this. RCP now has Hillary's margin down to 3.9% in a 2-way race and 3.2% in a 4-way race. Also, she is now down to 229 electoral votes, with Trump at 154 and 155 called tossups. Finally, her net negative rating advantage over Trump has shrunk dramatically in just the last 10 days. I've said all along that this is going to be a close race. More than 60% of Americans have a negative opinion of Hillary....and that number is growing every day. And as her lead continues to disappear, she is eventually going to have to come out from hiding...and that's really when her problems are going to get worse, because the more that people see Hillary, the less they like her. She knows that. That's why she has been hiding as much as she can. Nobody in that situation is going to win a landslide election against anybody.

Your claim in post #4443 that this election is going to be a "blowout for the ages" is simply laughable.

It's very "Presidential" to head into a place where you know you have minimal support when A) you've created the hostile environment and B) been asked by the Governor of the state not to go there?

Nice to have you back BSF. See you haven't lost your sense of humor.

And I see that you don't even know which poster you are responding to.

BTW, are you still holding on to your prediction that this election will be a LBJ/Goldwater, Nixon/McGovern, Reagan/Mondale style landslide with a 20% margin in the popular vote?

So, this shit is still not tied then. Good.

It's getting there. Don't stay away too long. Hillary is fading like a two dollar shirt.

Sadly I am back, as of today. Only saw 67 species of birds with 14 new life species, but the good news is that this shit is not tied. Nate Silver currently has Clinton with about a 70% chance of winning. Less than 65% is when I will start to get really nervous.

Glad to hear about the 14 new bird species. Now we should not have to worry as much about that rat dying off up north. :D

Ha; and you are so right. Guess you two drones are so alike, easy to make a mistake.

Yes, I still believe it will be an ass kicking. Not of epic proportions originally thought, but an ass kicking never the less.

It's easy to know the difference in the two. BSF became an arch conservative when a liberal socialist lost. BKF became an arch conservative when Obama was elected President.

Trump gets the support of David Duke and assorted types. This is big news, splattered all over the newspapers and online sites. Mr. Trump, what do you have to say for yourself?

The head of the Communist Party USA urges people to vote for Hillary. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Quick question, does the American communist party have a history of blatantly racist policies and, if you go back even further, a history of lynching and murder. I am too lazy to google it my self.

ETA: edited to add American communist party, because obviously Stalin did some bad and racist shit....but Stalin is not the one who endorsed Hillary.

White nationalist hate groups are a bigger deal and much more dangerous and probably much more prevalent than the Communist Party in the US.

Nah, man. The communist party is all good. There is no association with death or devastation or soul crushing poverty or oppression with the communist party.

Surely the tens of racist that make up David Dukes group is a much greater threat. They have a lot of sway in society and influence the direction of the country with their main stream thoughts.

You grossly underestimate the size of the white nationalist movement and the extent to which they're feeding off the Trump enthusiasm.

Or you greatly exaggerate it for political purposes. Tell me of all the policy makers influenced by these guys. Show me the marches where they are changing opinions.

A few guys on a computer in a basement. I would not be too worried.

As if the communist party has made any of these in roads.

While the KKK and David Duke's friends have a history of white supremecy, racism and even lynching and murder, the very small American communist movement has been a net positive on society in America. For example, they helped in the fight for things like racial equality in the work place and allowing workers to unionize and murdered no one in the process. Stop associating American communists with Stalin, and recognize that David Duke was the leader of a racist organization with long history of lynching and other violence.

Possibly only interesting to me, since I grew up in the Philly suburb in what was then a very Republican area, but this discusses the changes in the Philly 'burbs:

In suburbs, a shift, and a path to victory

This is what I keep thinking of when PA is discussed as a swing state. The middle of the state is going to vote for Trump, Philly and Pitt are going to vote for Clinton, the Philly suburbs will be important. The people Kellyanne Conway wants to appeal to.
