Yes - and Thanksgiving. There is just nothing good about this. At a military academy every Thanksgiving would be better. Play one at home and one away that weekend every year.

Vandy is too good and is a no win situation, seriously! AGAIN I understood the idea and it was worth a shot but it just does not work.
 
Dooley and Grobe

Interesting they both have very similar records at Wake. The difference is there are so many bowls now. Wake would have gone to two more bowls under Dooley in todays system. He was 7-4 and 6-4-1 and did not get bowl invites. Imagine if he had gone to bowls the better recruits we would have had. Arguably he was our best game day coach. He may not have been able to claim the good guy qualities of a Grobe, but he won a hell of alot more games than him and had a better winning percentage by a long shot over a career.

This team is horrible! No chance we make a bowl game! Fire Grobe!

This team is incredible! No chance we shouldn't have won the ACC with so much talent! Grobe wasted it! Grobe sucks!

Such a joke. This team had serious holes all year and managed to get big wins despite the defense still being a year away. We're primed for a great run next year.

Anyone bashing Grobe after this season will bash him no matter what the results are short of another Orange Bowl appearance. Vandy was legit this year, Rogers + Stacy was a nightmare matchup for our defense. They were much better than their record.
 
Socal would have ranted non-stop about Dooley's "3 yards and a cloud of dust" offense.

Some people confuse reality with how they would like the world to be.
 
The fact that we are even paying attention at this point in the season is a testament to the improvement Wake Forest football has made under Grobe.

Agreed. Our schedule next year has 12 winnable games on it (ND probably the least likely). This year is not over, but 8-4 and a run at the division should be very possible next year.
 
Hey socaldick...If you ever actually show up for a game please post what seat, I know loads of people would love to meet you...And skydiv is right...

If you expect mediocrity, and are ok with that then thats what you usually get....

seemed the players and coaches were satisfied with getting bowl eligable and didn't realize that the game was a chance to go to a better bowl with a win. Vandy knew they needed it to get eligible and whipped some ass!

.500 at wake over a decade isn't mediocrity
 
Jim Grobe has made Wake Forest football relevant. The next time you walk into the stadium, look at the Deacon Tower and the scoreboard if you want to be reminded of what this man has brought to the university.
