Ain't played nobody, PAWL!
If Clawson gets a better job and leaves. That’s great. Let’s hire the next one and have this thread again in 5 years.

Grobe had 5 winning seasons and 8 losing ones. He had one excellent three year period due to hitting two years of recruiting.
Unless Calwson is 1000% in love with Wake, I doubt he'll be here for thirteen years. He may get a bigger offer this winter or next if he has another bowl win. With the new ESPN contract we can give him a significant raise. The question is if he wants a new challenge.
Clawson is a highly competitive guy who will leave for the right opportunity at a larger Power 5 school that gives him an easier recruiting base ( lower academic standards --likely a state school) and allows him the chance to compete for a national championship. However, it will take more than 6-6 or 7-5 type years to get that kind of offer. He'll need to string together pre bowl 9-3, 8-4 type years-- if he does ,we'll likely know that he will move on, and be happy for him. The kids still in school thing is overblown-- coaches and their wives know they will likely move around in that profession.
I do not agree with this when it comes to Clawson.
Agreed. Nothing about Clawson says "state school" or coaching at a place with poor to middling academics.
except for the past 2 stops on his resume
WFU: Where fans constantly fret about coaches leaving for better jobs even though it never happens.
After watching him get emotional and tear up yesterday I don't think he is going to go anywhere
Unless the $ is right
Until Clawson wins an ACC Championship - it's Grobe. If you disagree, you just don't understand what that man did for us.
Unless the $ is right
Daughter is quitting school to join the football staffdaughter is a sophomore at Davidson and son is younger than her
People under value the fact Clawson is a Williams graduate. He went to a better College than you did. His father said "Dave wanted to go to the best academic school he could get into and still play football." Add to that how he got burned at one of the football factories,Tennessee. It's highly unusual to have a coach here whose recruiting philosophy aligns with exactly what his father said. Clawson constantly refers to himself about Wake players. " The kids we get love football and want to go to a strong academic school like Wake." Clawson follows his North Star.
