House Investigations: Impeachment inquiry is officially on

Then the public must deserve to know about the actions of Trump and his family. Trump and his partners in Baku (the Iranian Revolutionary Guard). His financial partner in Trump Toronto - Vladimir Putin. His kids' partners in Trump Soho - the Russian mob. How about all the undocumented people who have worked for Trump for decades?

Let's learn more...

Very good thread on impeachment.

The time is now.

This. Of course part of this is because Democrats have no idea how to counterpunch. Hillary should have called out what a farce it is. She should have treated the Republican Senators like shit. The Democrats should have called out the Republicans too. But the Democrats are weak.

Republicans do better with fake investigations than Democrats do with real ones.

One of the most disappointing things about the past three years has been seeing just how weak and spineless much of the Democratic Party has become. It's not really a surprise from Republicans, as they've been building up to Trump for decades, ever since at least the Southern Strategy was implemented, and Trump is arguably the final expression of their political evolution (or devolution) since the Nixon years. Also, it's obvious that most Republican pols are terrified of getting primaried by Trump's base, or having Trump and his base turn against them. Not that it makes it OK, of course, but it's not really a surprise.

Democrats, however, have no such excuses. I've become convinced that many veteran Dems (like Schumer) are living in the past, and still trying to pretend as if it's the 80s, when you could cut deals with moderate Republicans like a Howard Baker or Bob Dole and get things done. They simply don't know how to operate against guys like McConnell or Trump, and seem intimidated by them. Also, I think it's clear that many Democrats (especially older centrists) are just as frightened of Trump, his rural base, and right-wing news media as Republicans are. They seem to be paralyzed by fears that if they try to impeach Trump, or even just act more forcefully against what Trump, his administration, and other Republicans are doing, then they'll be called out on Fox or the rubes will come after them. They're acting as frightened as most Republicans are. It seems to be no accident that most of the congressional Dems who are really standing up to Trump are the younger members. The Dem presidential candidates seem more willing to call out Trump, but even there is a clear fault line, with Biden seeming to think that if Trump is defeated, maybe the GOP will return to "normal", whatever that means.

I think releasing the transcript would set a bad precedent but certainly members of Congress need to see it.

If integrity is Trump's cornerstone criteria about the US doing business with another country. Then, no country should do business with Trump.

Does Trump think he'd have an easier time beating Warren than Biden? If so, this might be a great scandal for him if it moves people away from Biden.

I think he probably would, but easier time means he’s down 8 points instead of like 11. Still means probably even odds with the EC skewing things, but even odds as an incumbent is not great, Bob.

House Investigations: Mnuchin breaks anti-corruption law, won’t release Trumps taxes

Great post. Younger members realize the folks you’re talking about are a shrinking part of the electorate and they’re largely full of shit.

Kasich is positioning himself to replace Trump or Pence.

If you’re a Republican or conservative and not actively working in your community to oust any republican who endorses trump, or planning on voting Dem, you are complicit in this. Anything less, like voting third party, is supporting this unprecedented corruption and 100% putting judges and shit over country.
