Illinois Post Game Thoughts

There's little question that the phantom three in the second half was a bozo call. However, we drove the ball a lot more than the did. They also chested up our guys out on the court. Our soft D and zones don't lend themselves to fouling much.

If those calls had gone against us we would be furious.

I thought Moore hit the ball or the rim, and I actually didn't know you could take back a foul upon review like they did with BC's elbow.

The officials were pretty awful both ways the whole night. Missed two other goaltending calls (against us), fell for two blatant leg kicks on 3 point shots (for us), and both reviews took way too long and ended up with nonsensical results.

They didn't, right? They ruled there was an inadvertent whistle.

That was a creative solution for calling a flop. Good job there officials. That was right and just.

Another option the officials had once they realized on the replay that there wasn't contact is this:
(from NCAA rules)

Section 3. CLASS A Unsporting Technical Infractions...

d. Faking being fouled by an opponent when confirmed by instant replay
during a review for a flagrant foul, contact dead ball technical foul or
flagrant 2 contact technical foul. (See Rule 11-2.1.d.6.)

If the refs had called that, there probably would be a hole in the roof of the Joel cause Underwood would have gone ballistic.

Ugh. We need to root for them now.

Wow. Steal with a second left and Leron Black's 3/4 court heave hit front iron. Going into OT.

NW wins. Apparently, Illinois and NW only play once this year. Dec 1. What a joke.

Any hope of an at-large depends on our OOC wins meaning something.
