This is all bullshit of course. Fortunately, this board is not representative of our society nor DSA's target demographic. Right now, I'm 1 of 50,000 in the biggest socialist organization in a century.
Regardless of what you think of my refusal to be polite about a warmonger, we ARE winning people over. If I won over 1-2 people on here, I'd consider that a success.
Since you like to just make up numbers as fact all the time, where are you getting the 60-80% from? What key issues do you think make up that 60-80%? Because when I want to talk about healthcare as a human right, or that police and prisons are bad, or that having special forces in 150 countries and bombing civilians in Yemen is bad, you want to constantly disagree with me. So either the 80% number is made up, or the numbers are correct and 20% is important enough that it means we can't agree on political strategy.
This board is full of educated people. At this point, you should all be mostly aware of the DSA and its key issues. If you support medicare for all, or organizing tenants against shitty landlords, or organizing low-wage workers for paid sick leave, or doing free brake light clinics, or supporting teacher strikes, etc., then you should come organize with us, regardless of your political affiliation. But if you'd rather judge us by my words about John McCain on an internet message board, then you don't actually care about people most harmed by Trump's policies.
In other words, I have a better chance winning over people to my movement by showing actual real fucking decency to poor and working class people, than I do by praising someone who was always against the interests of the poor and working class. You want to pretend to be anti-racist and anti-fascist while lecturing people that are doing anti-racist, anti-fascist organizing work.
