Manning Buyout Negotiations Have Begun

Seems to be so. The rare, but not unprecedented, contract terms would be fully guaranteed, no buyout, and remaining contract amount due 30 days after firing.

That would have Wake currently owing Danny around $15 million if he were to be fired tomorrow. Presumably, the amount owed decreases each payday.
 
OK, let's just recap:

- Deacs lose in the opening round of the ACC tournament AGAIN.
- Deacs have yet to play in an ACC Quarterfinal in 10 YEARS.
- All WF sports are cancelled until the Fall semester, at the earliest.
- No NCAA tournament.
- WF lacks the money to make a men's basketball coaching change

Going to be a great next few months on this board. Guess we can start the 2020-21 Danny Manning Coach Replacement Thread....
 
If the only reason Manning stays in place is because of fiscal issues then that says a lot about his character, or lack thereof. When you know an athletic department wants to get rid of you, a fan base is united against you, but you are holding them hostage because they can't afford to get rid of you then you are beyond arrogant...you are pretty despicable.

Lots of marriages stay together for financial reasons.
 
There are a lot worse people who do a lot worse for money than Manning. His sin is wanting to do his job poorly instead of getting paid less to not do it.
 
Didn't say there aren't a lot worse people. It is still pretty despicable when you refuse to budge on such an exorbitant amount of $ when you know your employer wants to part ways with you for understandable reasons. He KNOWS that the lack of attendance is costing Wake a LOT of $ and it is directly a result of him being terrible at his job. Manning is costing Wake a lot more than his contract.

Manning has graduated (including BC) exactly TWO players in six years and has one of the worst winning percentages in ACC history.
Can anyone please enlighten me to how this is even possible? Essentially run a 1-and-done operation and STILL can't win!!

Exactly. Currie hasn’t been negotiating his buyout for the last 2 days just to get fucked by money reasons. Bigboy’s sources are wrong. Doesn’t add up that he’s “been back all along” while Currie has been negotiating.
 
Thats bullshit and we both know it, the US tanking economy has nothin to with it. thats a bullshit excuse the Manning is gone crew will use to justify it.

Except bigboy has been on all sides of the Manning issue.

There are obviously other issues being discussed and acted upon over the past 48-72 hours.

Any chance we can talk RW out of some of his money since he's the asshole that caused this? If not, can we get some unsavory folk to......perhaps ruin some yards, key some cars, slash some tires.......etc. REALLY make some people uncomfortable. LOL
 
I have a really hard time believing a school that owns half of W/S , Baptist Hospital and has such a huge endowment can't come up with $15-20m.
