Yeah, vox discusses Mac Donald's work. But I don't believe she has proven a correlation. If you think she has, I'll try to read it with an open mind.

I don't enjoy the cycle of us all dismissing sources deemed to be from the opposing team, but she seems to be drawing conclusions off statistical noise in order to take advantage of the political climate to sell books.

Again, I'm not saying a Ferguson effect has been disproven. It just still seems to be a hypothesis without the data to prove correlation.
