In the ongoing witch hunt, the second cop to go to trial was acquitted. Prosecutor now zero for two. Not that anyone is still paying attention.
Technically, that's 0 for 1 because the 1st case can be retried. But yes, I saw this in the news today. OTOH, yeah, she probably won't win any of them if the 1st case was her best case. The blurb in today's news wasn't much, but I found 1 thing interesting. NPR reported it was a bench trial. In VA, either the prosecutor or defense attorney can request a jury trial. I would think that's the same in MD and most every other state. I can see why the defendant would want a bench trial - he'd want a dispassionate judge rather than a potentially emotional jury determining his fate. But assuming the prosecution there can ask for a jury, WHY TF wouldn't she ask for a jury? There is a lot you can criticize her for in her handling of these cases to begin with. But it's insane to take a case like this to a judge as opposed to a jury.
