Model Minority Myth

WF is a national Top 25 university now. Haven't you heard? National, baby, national. Its students now are the crème de la crème.

Never confuse National Top 25 Wake Forest University with that other Wake Forest University.

it's weird to fault students and young alumni for some publication's decisions

I really do worry about BKF's health based on everything that he's said on here.

You really may want to ask about stuff like that in your checkups with your doctor.

Despite you being an asshole to pretty much everybody on here, a change in your worldview of this nature after years of believing a certain thing is shocking to say the least, and it's concerning.

As a national university, Wake Forest is no longer populated by local North Carolinians.

LOL. More of that smug elitism. WF didn't just begin getting out of state students recently. Probably half of the 32 people in my suite over the four years were from out of state.

According to these sites [http://financialaid.wfu.edu/merit-based-scholarships/aid-for-nc-students/; http://www.studypoint.com/admissions/wake-forest/] Wake Forest is made up of 74% out of state students.

Based on previous posts, your freshman year was presumably Fall 1964.

Here's the relevant pages from the 1964-1965 Wake Forest Bulletin [http://library.digitalnc.org/cdm/ref/collection/yearbooks/id/5563]

The fact that they still list enrollees by North Carolina county suggests to me that in-state students still made up the majority of WF students. It's bizarre that you can't seem to understand that the world is just different today than it was fifty years ago. Do you make fun of adults today that can't live without their phones? What about all the kids at Carolina or NC State that have cars during college? It is a generational and cultural difference and has absolutely nothing to do with Wake Forest's tuition or the kinds of kids Wake attracts today. If you wanted to make fun of their landrovers and vineyard vines and lily pulitzer's I think loads of others here would agree with you.

This thread has veered significantly from this board's obsession with the life and times of "the balcks"
