NFL Year 2023. Kansas City Chiefs Win Super Bowl LVIII. Defeat 49ers in Overtime. 25-22.

Trades are few and far between in the NFL; Dobbs has now been traded twice in three months. Counting his playoff start for the Titans last January, if Dobbs gets a Vikings start at some point (which seems likely), Dobbs will have started for three different NFL teams in less than a season.

Mayfield is at 3 as well.

Wow, Washington only got a 3 for Young after getting a 2 for Sweat. Young may just be a 9 game rental. And with both gone, they've officially given up on the season, and Rivera & Co. will need to dust off their resumes.

And the Browns trade Peoples-Jones to the Lions for a 6. Not a bad deal for the Lions.

Seems like every team in the league would have made that deal for Young, and there are maybe only 4 where that pick would be a worse pick than the Niners

FWIW, the Commanders really like Casey Toohill (Stanford guy); he has outplayed Young in recent limited playing time; he has three sacks in the last three games playing less than 50% of the snaps. He is going to get a chance to see what he can do with full PT. The Commanders also took two DEs in the 2023 draft, including KJ Henry from Clemson. DL is one place where the team had some depth. Rivera & Co were going to be gone after this season unless there was a deep playoff run, and that was never going to happen.

SF will get that 3rd rounder back as a compensatory pick if Young leaves for free agency. It was a no-brainer move for them, IMO

Yeah, they get Young for 9 games and trade a 2024 late 3rd for a 2025 late 3rd. Kinda hard to believe no team offered better. And Young might have to do a short term prove it deal next year considering his injury history. I doubt many teams will be lining up to pay him $20+mil per on a multi year deal.

Raiders fire Josh McDaniels. He has a 20-35 career record as a head coach. I guess he’ll go back to revive the Pats offense.

Hiring him and a Pats FO guy as GM was bound to be a disaster when you look at McDaniels disaster in Denver and the Pats FO decisions over the last decade. But I didn't think Davis would fire them this soon because their contracts were so long. I thought it would be after next year's futility, not half way through this year.

Rivera and Del Rio are both gonezo. Good riddance and happy to see the new ownership group putting their stamp on the franchise.

New ownership wasn't initially looking to part with Sweat but the 2nd round offer from CHI (currently projected at #37 overall) was too good to pass up.

Young was shopped heavily but a 3rd rounder was the best offer on the table.

Looks like Washington will have three picks in the top 40 to 50 slots in the 2024 draft and 5 slots in the top 100. While it's not like the Dallas draft bounty after trading Hershel Walker, Washington's recent sad football history was slanted toward trading draft picks; so, whomever takes over while have at least something to work with.

Yeah, I just feel bad for Rivera because he seems like a good guy, but new management was always going to want their own GM and coach.
