Bestbrook recorded a triple double in 17 minutes, 35 seconds - 2nd fastest ever.

Carlisle is a wizard. Still a chance at the 6 seed which will still be a loss but perhaps not as decisively.

Amazing last 7 or so games down the stretch with a depleted roster.

Yes. He basically clinched playoffs with a combo of Barea, Felton, Dirk, Justin Anderson, Zaza, Matthews and Salah Mejri

Why haven't the Mavs been able to consistently string together a good roster year to year? Is it just bad luck? Too much involvement from Cuban? They have had a HOF cornerstone for about 2 decades, have an ELITE coach, but just struggle to keep pieces in place.

I don't think anybody wants to be under contract when Dirk retires because you know the bottom is going to fall out.

Having a conversation with a buddy right now about Kobe's singular MVP. Does that say more about Kobe or the League during his career?

The League and the Lakers.

When history looks back at 1998-2010, the defining players with be Duncan, Kobe, and Shaq. The Spurs won 4 WCF and four championships. The Lakers won 7 WCF and 5 championships. Yet Duncan only had two MVPs and Kobe and Shaq had one apiece. Malone had his last MVP, Lebron had his first two, Dirk had his only one and Nash had two. There's always been a desire to find "someone else" to award the MVP aside from the obvious although that has waned in the Lebron era going into the Steph era.
