Official '16-17 NBA Thread: not with a bang but a whimper

That Parker-Manu-Lee olds lineup was fun to watch.

The dubs can even make us not care about counting down an actual season long triple double going on through 60 games.

palma, what was with the Spurs home crowd in the Staples Center tonight?

During the Raptors game, they were talking about Kyle Lowry going home to Philly to finish his career. That would be a great addition and a wise way to use their cap space.

Yes, signing a >30 guard to a 5 year max when the rest of your roster is 22 or under seems like a brilliant move.

Why would he go from a semi-contender to an awful team? It's not like the Raptors won't pay to keep him.
Plus, would that mean the PG Simmons dreams are over? I guess they could slide Simmons into the always important shooting guard who can't shoot position.

It's called having a leader. Teams of all young players don't win in the NBA. It's an absolutely necessary move.

2&2, he's from Philly, went to Nova and has talked about going home. BTW, Lowry shoots about 40% on his own threes. He'd shoot better getting easier looks.

Like a Gerald Henderson with athleticism?

What % does he shoots on other people's threes?

Who on Philly is giving him easier looks than Derozan and Valenciunas? Niky Shooter and Embiid's hospice attendant?

He'll have Simmons passing to him and Saric as well as Embiid.

But I guess guys on this board understand Lowry more than people who actually talk to him.

The main questions are does he want the fifth year? and would Toronto do a sign and trade?

Whoever signs Kyle Lowry is gonna be paying him like 40 mil a year through his mid thirties.

He's been on an upward swing the past three years.

It comes to whether he will take four years or if there can be a sign and trade. The ixers wil lhave massive cap space for the years they will be paying him. Young teams need leaders and leaders cost money.
