Official 2018-19 NBA Season Thread - NBA Finals Raptors Win #WeTheNorth

Official 2018-19 NBA Season Thread - Finals - Raptors up 2-1; Klay returns in Game 4

time for durant to save steph’s soft ass? probably not.

Welp, if you can't beat the Warriors at home without KD, Klay, Looney, and Steph with a 110 degree fever, you're probably not winning this thing. This is done in 5.

(Would love for this to be #OldTakesExposed)

To be fair, you never clarified who was winning in 5.

Nick Nurse might be a good coach. Whipping out the ole box and 1 on the NBA level is nice.

If the Raptors lose this from here that fan base is gonna be all-time crushed

Kawhi is hands down the best player in the league. He's just a complete assassin with no weaknesses. Durant's a sensitive pussy. That's his weakness. And man this Toronto defense has to be up there in all time defenses in the history of the league. When you got Ibaka coming off the bench with 5 all world starter defenders, it's remarkable.

Dude was a Finals MVP before he even got really good. He’s an amazing player. Crazy how long it took this board to realize it. He needs to stay in the North and win more of championships.

But at least the Sixers got to rent Jimmy Butler.

Jimmy Butler is an assassin too. They shoulda gotten both

2012 - Gary Forbes + #12 pick in 2013 draft (Steven Adams)
2015 - Greivis Vazquez
2016 - #27 pick of the 2016 draft
2017 - Terance Ross + #25 pick in 2017 draft (Anžejs Pasečņiks)
2018 - Fire COY to hire assistant
2019 - Demar DeRozan + Jakob Poeltl + #29 pick in 2019 draft
2019 - Jonas Valanciunas + Delon Wright + CJ Miles + 2024 2nd round draft pick.

This is how the Raptors acquired their entire playoff rotation plus OG Anunoby who has been injured.

Any franchise can become a contender by making smart moves. You couldn't even build a playoff roster around the players they gave up to build this team. Siakim was the only player drafted with the Raptors' own pick.

Interesting. Can you mark the current players on the roester to these trades? Honestly, I only know the last two netted Gasol, Green, and Kawhi in reverse order. Wait, the 2017 trade of Terance Ross netted Ibaka. Gonna guess that the 2012 trade netted Lowry only because of how long ago it happened. That leaves Siakam, VanVleet, and Norman Powell for the other two trades.

Powell was a second round pick acquired in the Vasquez trade. VanVleet undrafted. Siakam was the #27 pick with our own pick.

Powell and the pick used to acquire Anunoby were from the Vasquez trade.

Wasn’t going to answer but yes I have lived here my whole life.
