Official 2020 NBA Offseason - First Half Season Schedule Out

I keep seeing people angry that the NBA is testing people, but it makes sense to test people who we know have had body to body contact with infected people and the people who regularly have spent time with them. It's like the Lakers testing their players cost LA 15 tests that could have gone to random people.

Also the NBA took the lead on this issue last Wednesday.

Three Sixers players tested positive. NBA had at one point last week used 1% of the tests that had been administered in America.

Amazing Italy and South Korea can do 10,000 tests per day, but we can't do 10,000 in a month.

Didn't the Sixers play the Nets just before the league went dark.

Yeah it’s misguided anger. The lack of tests overall is clearly the actual issue.

John Collins is doing an AMA on the BR app from 11:00-11:20.

How has the NBA been taking the lead "on this issue"?

The NBA had decided to continue to play games in empty arenas, something the NCAA had already done, when they were forced to stop playing games because they were the first major sport to have a player test positive.

What else has the NBA taken the lead on?

You explained it yourself. They tested players and stopped playing games while other leagues weren't even testing players and were talking about playing in empty arenas.

And what is the basis for the claim that other leagues failed to test players that showed symptoms?

NBA was doing what every other league did. They just happened to have a player pop a positive test first. So, they were forced to suspend. Don't see that as leading anything.

Who else was testing?

Official 2019-20 NBA Season Suspended Due to Coronavirus

Tom Hanks, and anyone else with connections and symptoms.

Which leagues? You make it seem like all those conferences with ongoing tournaments were actively testing athletes. They weren’t. Even after Gobert’s mic touching gag, there were widespread calls to test him.

And Hanks tested positive after Gobert.

Me pretty much all game while Doris was spitting truth after truth.

She called for suspending the season soon after tip. By the time she got to advocating for hourly wage earners, she was well into her stump speech.

Me pretty much all evening.

Doris Burke tested positive for coronavirus.

Hanks got tested in Oz, so take him out of the "used his connections" pile.
