Official 2022-23 College Basketball Thread: UCONN - One Shining Moment

After losing by 34 at Pitt on February 7th, L'ville rating fell to #305, and the Cards will in position to be the first power conference team to finish below #300 in the ratings. Unfortunately, the Cards played Miami tough in Coral Gables (lost by 7), UVA tough (lost by 3) and then L'ville beat Clemson by 10. Now L'ville is up to #278. So, they are just another sucky team, instead of record breaking horribly bad.

As an example that there is benefit to betting the trash, over the last 12 days, L'ville, GT and ND are 8-0 ATS when not playing each other. Duke opened -20 against L'ville tonight; the line is down to -18.

West Virginia rolls Ok St to go to 5-10 in league play and almost locked up their bid. Ok St stumbles to 7-8 and comfortably in.

That was really way too much effort against a team as bad as Louisville. Save the big stunts like that for a game where you actually need to distract the players to beat them.

Nice quote by Nate Oats basically ignoring the fact his best player drove a murder weapon to the scene of the crime.

It’s Alabama. Bringing a gun to someone is just the neighborly thing to do.

Realize that Darius Miles wasn't playing, but was surprised what little impact the murder charge against a rostered player and resulting investigation had on Bama as they continued to plow through opponents. That said, if Brandon Miller is implicated in anyway, that changes things, he is the best player in the SEC, the best freshman in the country and currently projected as the #3 pick in the 2023 NBA draft (behind Victor and Scoot). How f-ing dumb.

He didn't just bring the murder weapon, he parked his car in a way that blocked the victim's car from exiting the parking lot where she was ultimately murdered. He shouldn't be playing any more this season.

Oats just sees that as getting an assist and setting a pick.

nobody could have known what was going to happen guys. no way to know what players are doing outside of practice

Yea so if one of our players received a text asking him to bring a gun to a place where a live argument was going on, the player’s response was to just reflexively grab the gun and start the car, two people were intentionally shot dead from said gun (with an assist from the player blocking them in an alleyway), and coach Forbes responded with “Wrong place, wrong time,” I…would not be happy.

and #yankeefaces got in trouble for busting out windows on the Quad after the Red Sox won the WS
