Looking at these lists, the Rockets and Pistons have a lot of young dudes playing the same positions. And now the Rockets spend a lot of cap space on a starting backcourt to overlap the young backcourt they've been developing the last 2 years.
KPJ and Jalen Green have never been the backcourt of the future, they're both very good players but neither of them are point guards. Amen and Jalen should be the backcourt we're looking to develop for the future, and having an actual point guard on the roster to run the offence for the first time in literally 2 or 3 seasons should, in theory, be great for the young guys.

We'll see. Rockets vs. Spurs should be a good comparison. Both teams entered the offseason with young talent and cap space. The Rockets spent their cap locking up a veteran backcourt. The Spurs spent their cap trading for expiring contracts.

It's about time for the Magic to make some noise. They've got a star in Paolo. They've got a guy who should be very good in Franz Wagner. Anthony and Fultz seem to have figured something out. Now they've got Black on top of that at PG.

outside of wemby - not too much excitement on the spurs roster

hmm...no Jaden Ivey on the chart

I think I pick Orlando's roster of the six teams because Wemby is #tooathletic and #tooskinny

Yeah, the Rox have been doing very little developing and a whole lotta "just go out there and do some shit, young pups" the last couple seasons.

Which is partly why they overpaid for VanVleet.

Where is Sochan on this list? He may be the second best player on the team next season.

I dunno Vassell and Johnson are intriguing and their floor appears to be pretty good rotation guys (along with wemby and sochan). Spurs also have some young guards and wings that might be second teamers.

Mark Williams' rankings on there are legit. If he and LaMelo actually stay healthy and get to play together this year unlike last year, it may help offset the turd that is Brandon Miller.

#sorrywrongthread
buckets invited Spurs donk talk by challenging the roster behind Wemby.

Yeah, worst case scenario Jones, Vassell, and Johnson are just rotation guys on manageable contracts, Wesley and Branham are deep bench guys through the rookie contract and the Spurs use their six picks in the next two drafts to draft or trade for a PG and wing who could start for a contender. So the future lineup is 2024 draft PG/Vassell/veteran wing/Sochan/Wemby.

Best case, Jones, Vassell, and Johnson are starters who elevate and are elevated by Wemby and actually trying to win.

We'll see soon enough. Either is a pretty good place to be.

Miller will "pussy around the 3 point line" as 2&2 so wonderfully puts it.

"He will pussy around the 3 point line" is the new "He looked good around the buffet line".

Above all else, the Spurs need to figure out their PG to pair with Wemby. As much of a unicorn Wemby is, I'm not sure he's gonna ever be this elite iso guy you can just give the ball to, clear out, and let him go to work. He seems like he'll be much more of pick-and-pop/screen-and-roll guy (an elite one at that) to me on the offensive end, at least early on in his career.

That's fair, also if anyone else has never heard of Stanley Umude like I hadnt, he's played 2 minutes total in his NBA career, attempted 0 field goals and took (and scored) two free throws.
Efficient

First time Giannis lowers his shoulder into Wemby’s solar plexus the Frenchman is going to disintegrate

Either that or someone will fight through his toothpick leg screen and snap his legs if he doesn’t figure out getting his feet under him properly on ball screens

By comparison, regular season games on ABC, ESPN, and TNT average 1.6 million viewers.
