I'm on board with Paths of Glory, Das Boot, and Apocalypse Now, though I've never seen The Enemy Below or a Bridge Too Far. I'll have to check those out. I haven't watched either in awhile, but I used to like Three Kings and Restrepo a lot, too.

Does The Wind That Shakes the Barley Count as a war movie? I might add that to my list, too.

Glory is good, but (imo) it might have been stronger had it not made Matthew Broderick protagonist.
