Ongoing gun violence/injury thread

best thought on guns I've read recently, forget where, is that whites are clinging to their guns in the south cause they're terrified of having the roles reversed from 150 years ago.
 
Yes. They cling to guns and religion just as Obama predicted. And yes. White men losers are lashing out because their culture teaches them that guns are their right and a way to solve their problems.

There was a false alarm about an active shooter at Topsail High School in North Carolina near Wilmington but it turned out to be a hot water heater
 
No amount of mass shootings, injuries or deaths will give the blood-thirsty gun companies, the NRA, Trump or Republicans a conscience. The more blood, the higher the profits will be and the more intense their opposition to any sane gun laws will become. The higher the profits, the more donations to Republicans and Trump. As long as donations are flowing, the GOP doesn't give a fuck how many people die.

In Heller, even Scalia wrote that gun laws are totally constitutional. But not for these Republicans.

Dems should stop being such cowards and pass some simple laws in the House. Dems lose elections for seeming weak to the public. This is their weakest, wussiest acts of cowardice. Over 85% of the public supports universal background checks on all sales or transfers of ownership of guns, yet the Dems are scared shitless to do the right thing. Their silence and inaction is complicity.
 
I had a fleeting bit of fear watching the games at a very crowded bar with friends last night. A gun-nutjob could have easily killed a lot of people there. I've had that creep into mind at sporting events and airports, but never a sports bar. Sad times.

I look forward to the NRA statement condemning the police for killing a good guy with a good who was using his 2nd Amendment rights to protect himself and others.

The same people who go on and on about their 2A rights will gladly support stop and frisk and "taking guns off the streets."
